- As ABC points out, I , like many Expats here on the forum, are always happy to pass on some thoughts/ideas, believe me most queries i get via my web site, end up in pasing on some ideas/info - rather than any paying work - but thats fine with me, I just was pointing out that, perhaps lately, more than ever, I come across genuine girls, who have woken up to the fact that they may not get too many more chances ... and lets face it, most of us are hardly as pure as the driven snow ! I think a few simple rules are to avoid the obviously "pushy" or forward TGs, also those over dressed,and those whose english is very good, - OK, you need some time here, but girls with a "day job" be it at McDonalds, dept. store, or your favourite restaurant, are at least all approachable - and you can always slip off to a MP to relieve the tension whilst trying to win a "straight" TG over -

That is so true.
I have also come accross several so-called gems. Two infact, are no longer in the business, and made enough money to open a little store of their own. I still keep incontact with them and when I'm in town I have lunch with them and nothing else.

I think a lot of guys are being unrealistic.
Would you really expect a healthy sexy girl to wait months for you??
I don't care what the nationality is to ask someone to wait a long time is very difficult.Would you go without sex for months?Personally i wouldn't and i wouldn't expect anyone else to.Women have desires that need to be satisfied and if you are away long periods of time you have to be realistic and expect that person to have some fun.It is of course a different matter if you are living in the country and they are regularly playing up.
Unfortunately i have gone out with too many women who have been married or who have had boyfriends that the whole idea of monagomous relationships seems like a big sham.Anyway i think if you don't want to have kids you are better off just having a girlfriend and if things start to go bad trade her in and get another one .

TheMachine added some good points, but I would like to add some additional points _for_ the TGs:
*) if you expect her to stop working in a bar/MP/etc (most of the guys forget the sense of "working") because you love her - how much do you pay per month? Somehow we forget that a TG earns money from working with other guys. As long as you don't send 20-40kBaht/month (or perhaps more), with what right can a guy expect the girl to stop? She has to live in BKK... we are back in Europe/North America with our friends (and perhaps girl-friend or wife). You can get angry on her if you send her money to stop her and she still goes on it... but not before!
*) Perhaps important - you should learn the Thai words for "customer" and "friend"... if she meets some friends with you together she will introduce you... big difference if she calls you a customer or a friend. Difficult to detect if you are not able to understand Thai but quite interesting.
*) Even if the TGs are on work it's not necessarily a lie if they claim to love or like you. The idea of "relation == have sex only with one partner" is an idea of us not of them. After all, it's still Asia... in China a business man can still expect a daily BJ from his secretary, even if she has her own family. In US or Europe you will get a severe problem when acting like this (in the general case...). Me, I am in a somehow similiar situation... a TG called me "my love" on my last visit to BKK... but we both know the game... she promised (I didn't ask) to be honest and I promised to meet her again on my next visit (what I will do... it was quite amazing). In the meantime (no joke) I get a SMS every time she picked up another guy ("yesterday I butterfly, sorry."). Perhaps this lacks a lot of romantic feelings but at least not the typical "I wait for you". Is she now a bad girl or a good girl? I don't know. And I shouldn't judge her... because I have a girlfriend here in Europe.
*) You promised to come back... how many guys have said this before but didn't? Some of us have a special Thai mobile phone no when we are in BKK... avoiding the "come back" problem by not leaving trusted contact data. A TG would run a big risk if she trusts only our word without backup plan. This leads us to the conclusion - if she is older than perhaps 22 or 23 she will always have a backup plan. Or she is a total fool.

as we are the ones paying, I think we are allowed some indescressions !!! - as to going without sex, from my experience with straight TGs, this is no big problem, even BGs away from the bar scene, the ecstatcy, alcohol etc etc seldom complain of being "Ngian" [Horny] And, for sure, a straight TG, working in a shopping mall for example, will quite happily wait 6-12 months for a Guy she believes is genuine - maybe not in some countries, but ceretainly in Thailand - see cases of it happening all the time - they even have to wait that long to get a Visa to go to the US ! - I dont know the "M"s background, - maybe he has spent more time living in ban Nok, or large communities where he is the only farang than me .... - but that would be unlikely.
