Unfortunately your cynicism is totally correct and I suppose the Embassy seeing so many cases that fit into the category you describe become cynical also. Somewhere there is a menu of do's, don'ts, how to's, next moves, for BG's on how to get their farang.
Either this has already happened to you rtb or not yet. Your time to bite the dust must be soon. Nobody is immune to love or emotions.

I happen to had the girl that will be back in less then 2 years. it's a true story. I am her ex. however she indicated I should just wait for her to come back. something I declined.
I don't know, what happened, I have been picked up by 2 different girls recently. they picked me, I did not pick them.
they both have sponsers, but they both are looking for regular boyfriends.
they are both ok looking, one is 20, the other one 28. it seems that both work in bars (not gogos) and both might go with customers, the older one seems to be in charge of the PR's in some cafe in patpong the other one works in a new place with live music.
they both need sex on a regular basis, at least more regular than their sponsers come to town.
yurune can confirm the story with the younger one, I am not making this up.
and I am not even good looking.
as for bgf's, I used to tell people "she is a show girl, she makes show for tourists".

I can confirm the above. I have been with RTB at Bars, RTs & at "Privilege" and I can vouch for the fact that the girls just love him. He is not the handsomest of guys and he doesn't throw around money - But I think he has what the Thais call "Jai Dee" ( Good Heart ) and this only re-inforces the contention that although they are in it for the money many BGs would love to be with a guy who makes them laugh & happy.

I would love Yurume (or anybody else) to explain to me why, in most of farang countries, I could be homeless, unemployed and being reported in police files and not have paper trials or difficulties to get a Thai visa.

Because you'd still have less apparent economic incentive to overstay your visa or apply under false pretenses.
Because Thailand has no social welfare system upon which an overstaying foreigner could beceme a lifelong leach.
Because Thailand is much more a tourist draw for a foreigner than vice versa and raising the bar overmuch would decimate the Thai tourist industry.
Because Thai tourism, immigration and visa policy has been manipulated to some degree by foreign powers in return for loans and assistance.

Missed your query, as haven't been monitoring this thread. My comment regarding "never say she was just a waitress at a gg bar, even if true" was said because the US Embassy, at least, won't believe she doesn't go with customers, even if that is true. My TGF's sister works at a gg-bar but she doesn't go with customers. However, she wears a number like everyone else, as well as the "welcome girl" uniform. Technically, she is b/f-able, but in reality, she chooses not to.
If she told the US Embassy this, and that the gg-bar is on Soi Cowboy, she would get about as far as the thudding sound of the "Rejected" stamp on her application. It would be an uphill battle from the start.
If you were an embassy screener, and you saw my TGF's sister, and then had to decide whether she was really doing P4P, based on her word, and then you saw some other lady who had, for example, a clerical job in a small business, whom would you pick for the visa? The US Embassy specifically disallows anyone with P4P history as a matter of policy. That's not to say that BG's don't ever get visas to the U.S., but admitting association with P4P makes the lady an easy target for a no-questions-asked denial. That's why with disclosure, less is more.
As do the other bro's, I look forward to the day when all this changes, but I'm not holding my breath.
