well I have to confess I'm getting a little confused. I don't even know what side of which argument I'm on anymore.
Often when I'm feeling this way is it because philology has confused quantitative attributes with qualitative ones. Perhaps we might safely say that anything longer than a LT is a GF. One might also add symmetry requirements such as her buying you a gift unexpectedly. We can iterate the definition from there.
As to the brother appelation, in some sense we are certainly associates. The metaphor was raised to point out that as much as we are not brothers the whores are not girlfriends.

A - brother

One more thing, do you guys really believe you don't have to spend money if the girl is your farang girlfriend or asian girlfriend or any other girlfriend from your home country? Not confused at all, in fact, I have a better feel for the term TGF now, I think...
Was seeking more info on the term so wouldn't offend any indivisual who took the term seriously.
