The Thai law regarding age of consent and bar workers and prostitution.
To enter a bar you must be 20. However 18 and 19 year olds may work in a bar.
The age of consent in Thailand is 15.
Prostitution is illegal.
If you are caught with a prostitute under 15 the penalties are severe - possibly life in prison.
If you are caught with a prostitute aged 15, 16 or 17 then the mandatory penalty is 2 years.
If you are caught with a prostitute who is 18 or older and prosecuted - you would be the first. In other words there appears to be no penalty and no enforcement.

No...there are different ages for consentual sex, and consentual sex for money.
I have a full translation of the actual statutes which I'd type and post, but to be honest it'd take an hour at least and I'm too lazy. I actually lost it and found it two nights ago, so probably ost chance of it happening in the next few days, before I lose it again

So if you are 18 you can work in a bar but you can not enter a bar.
Are you using large amounts of sedatives?
Yurune: I don't mean to disagree with you; & I always thought the age of consent was 18 BUT my wife told me several days ago that her first marriage was at age 19 & her mother had to sign. She thinks the age of consent is 20. Gets murkier & murkier. cheers.
For your further elucidation: When someone asks you "What is the legal age of consent?" he is not asking you what is the legal drinking age.

I must admit I made the statement from memory, but I remember some very strange items in the legislation and I'm sure that the age of consent was different for paid/unpaid.....
I'll dig it out tonight whilst I know where it is and summarise if I am too lazy to type it all.....
Certainly the age of consent is not as high as 20, but I'll confirm this evening.
