Thanks for making it easy for me sport.
Never had a major problem with the statement in your last post. A sound case made.
Just don't think however that coming off a past major sting, it is "too much" cynicism or distrust for anyone to react strongly and adversely to a similar circumstance. And to his credit he nevertheless forged ahead positively. If you care to see it as "obviously paranoid overtones" so be it. I see it as healthy and normal defenses at work. So, you call it tomayto, I call it tomahto.
Since the tone of the original post struck me as critical, my reaction is that If you have never reacted more negatively than usual after having been stung, then I wish you great luck in all future affairs.
Now - to return the favor and make it easy for you: My other problem is with the statement "Too much cynicism and distrust can be every bit as brainless as too much naivete". I still believe that statement as it stands has an inherent fallacy, for reasons previously stated.
Good debate, but too much bandwidth already wasted so signing off.

Follow up to the story of my sms exchange of yesterday:
I believe the girl's boyfriend or herself read this forum. Today she called me screaming and insulting saying she doesn't want to hear from me again. Since our sms exchange yesterday... nothing else had transpired. I can only think she or the BF read the post and... figured it was me. Well... there it goes.

If TPE did not want to be identified in this forum, then I am sure he would not have his banner featured on the main page of this forum. JMHO.

No need to be defensive; I wasn't trying to get at you personally.
The topic of this thread is the 'genuineness' or otherwise of TGs. This is of far more interest to me than the particularities of your love life. However, you supplied a classic example of how readily farang guys can attribute base and hostile motives to TGs on grounds which are clearly inadequate and wholly mistaken. You must realise this yourself, in which case so much the better for you and your TGF. This is a good thing, no?
The interesting thing about this case is that you found out you'd got it all wrong and were therefore in a position to put things right. Very often, guys never do find this out and their prejudiced view of TGs is reinforced. The Mike & Noi story is an example of this.
The 'paranoid overtones' I referred to were not meant to be reflection on your own character, but on the wider culture of farangs in their dealings with Thais - in particular the dealings between farang guys and Thai women. In my view, it's a phenomenon which causes too much unnecessary grief.

One of 'my girls' has a husband in Japan. She is waiting for a visa to go there and be with him. In the meantime, JapanGuy set her up to go to university, with a part-time job, etc. All the things that he was supposed to do. When JapanGuy is here, she is with him 24/7. What does she do when he leaves? She goes to university, she works the part-time job and she continues to go with customers. She isn't up on the stage in the gogo anymore, but she has a client base that is impressive. Why does she still go with customers? Because THIS GIRL simply does not have the will to stop - she sees no reason to stop. The allure of the money may be too much.
JapanGuy could send unlimited baht, and I believe she will still go with customers until the time she boards the plane for her new home. (Maybe I'll take her to the airport!) 
My point is that she may not be like all girls that are in p4p, but her behaviour is not out of the norm, I think.
