The following is a true story.
One night many years ago there was a programme on TV here that was all about ghosts. Apparently they were gonna investigate and decide once-and-for-all whether there were such things. They visited known haunted houses and set up cameras and stayed overnight and delivered their findings the next morning.
As you know, I don't believe in any of this horseshit so I switched off all the lights and settled back, trying to hang shit on everything that was discussed.
At the end of the show the presenter looked at the camera and said, (and I still remember his words) "So are there really such things as ghosts? I guess we'll never know". And at that precise moment the TV went off channel and the video started to flick through the channels on the display all by itself!
I was easily the most scared I have ever been in my life and I sat there for a long time not knowing what to do. After about 5 minutes just watching the video display and waiting for everything to hopefully get back to normal I moved forward on the couch and it was then I discovered that I had been sitting on the remote control.

That show, however, kind of reminds me of the flick "The St. Francisville Experiment" where a bunch of college types went into the old Madame Lalaurie house in New Orleans. Basically the filmmakers were basically bandwagoning the Blair Witch Project fad/craze that was going around at the time and decided to cash in on it with a haunted house flick.
Anyhoo even though most critics slammed the piss out of the flick (f_ck CRITICS..I bet they all eat at Subway) and the overall flick was a little "Hollywooded"-up, especially at the end, it's not a bad flick at all and in my opinion, better than Blair Witch, which I found myself laughing my keister off at the 3 nimrods. I'm sorry, but that scene where the spirits started shaking their tent then our bumbling heros ran screaming their heads off through the woods is definitely one of the funniest scenes ever in horror cinema.
I can't believe people were actually scared by this flick. 
But I do recommend the St. Francisville Experiment. To me, it blows it away as far as suspense goes. But I guess I am a tad biased since where I live is haunted.
Ah well...
