An impressive list, Hermano.
Quite what it says about us for falling for them, I don't know. Let alone what it says about Western women, to whom we still find them hugely preferable (well, many of us anyway).
Still, I think it shows up the different approaches to life between LOS and the West.
You have our way - spend your life slogging your guts out at some insanely artificial task in order to go shopping for rubbish.
And their way - beguile foreigners into giving you loads of their money and doing most of your work while you devote your life to sleeping, eating and screwing.
Really, which is the more sensible?

Have moved this post her as I think it has more relevance to this section.
Wanted to share some experiences on Soi 33 from a 4 time visitor to BKK. Plus get some feedback from forum members.
Have read alot of the posts here and decided to try the bars at Soi 33 vs nana and other sois along Sukumvit. IMHO prefferred Soi 33 bars as they are less pushy and provide a more relaxed environment which is more in line with my own personal tastes.
Overall I found the girls in Soi 33 more attractive, with better understanding of english and not as much as a hardened professional outlook as other parts of BKK. Again this is based on personal preference.
I met a great girl in one of the bars - she told me she was PR girl not a hostess, (confirmed it on her name tag) can anyone outline what is the difference?
We ended up chatting for a long time one night after a mix up on my bill. She moved me to a new seat after the mix and kept offering to find me a nice woman to chat with. I told her that I was not interested in talking to other women but would like to talk with her. She told me her normal job was to greet and seat customers and ensure they got their first drink, and that normally she would not stay and drink with customers.
Is this likely or is this a nice line to show she is "nice girl"?
Anyway she said she was embarrassed by the mix up over bill etc and she would chat with me. She was a complete darling (I know they all are!), we chatted and had a few drinks and started talking about things to do and see in Bangkok. I mentioned maybe getting her recommendation on places to eat and she told ne show would show me if I wanted to pay bar fine. At this stage I did not expect anything more other than a nightout and dinner. I ended up barfining her THB 1500 so we could go out to another Thai club and then a late dinner. We shared taxi back to my apartment and asked her if she wanted to take the taxi back to her apartment and I would give her the money. She didn;t even think about it and simply got out of the taxi with me. I was very suprised by this as at no time throughout the evening did I mention or expect her to stay with me. We ended up spending the rest of my trip together (4 days) and although I paid the barfine for each night she never mentioned any other tips etc. We did do a bit of shopping and I had to insist on paying for a few gifts for her - a couple of times she even paid with her own money and would only accept my money after I told her I really to wanted to buy these things as a gift for her. I also bought her a seperate small gift she did not know about until I gave it to her when I left.
We spent a number of nights together where we often ended up just chatting until the wee hours before finally climbing into bed.
Now at the risk of getting flamed, laughed at for my naivity etc the entire experience seemed to transform from a business transaction into a very real GFE. I have read many posts her how some of TBG are expert actresses and have no shortage of displaying "real" sincerity, however I really didn't detect any mercenary desires on her part. Even more convinced by the fact she did not ask for a tip and we discussed meeting up in BKK and another place in SE Asia where her family has a business. She travels every couple of months to help stock her family's thai goods store.
We did discuss how much we enjoyed being together and agreed to stay in contact and to see what may happen in the future as I will be returning to BKK on more regular basis for business as well as possible meeting up outside Thailand.
In this situation my heart is telling me that it worth exploring to see what may eventuate whereas in my mind I have nagging doubts or concerns at being played and becoming an ATM.
Any advise for a relative newbie?
Appreciate honest responses from forum brothers.

And a quick update to the story... just received an email from her telling me how much fun she had etc with a clinching line that she has something serious to tell me tomorrow.... something that is serious for her about her past and she feels she has to tell me because she wants to be honest with me....
I waits with baited breath....
