Seems to me the point is not really whether she is lying, but that she expects him to give her money for no other reason than she wants it.
What happened to the concept of working for your earnings?
If anyone has spare 55K baht lying around to give to me for no other reason other than "I want that money", then I qualify as a recipient too.

By the way, all banks are differant, differant limits etc, some have up to 100k limit per day, but you have to withdraw it in 20k lots, so 5 withdrawals, she could very possibly take out the 55k in a single day depending on the banks policy.
I found out thru this form is the reason why the 20K limit is not your banks limit, but the machine can only count out 20 bills at a time. If it loaded with 500 THB notes you will only be able to take out 10K.
Compexec although she appears very sweet, I felt she was always asking for too much from me. You take me shopping. You buy me cell phone. I stood her up one time with her wait in a mall. In hindsight, it appears I did the right thing. It is funny once you discover a flaw in their story, they fall like a house of cards.

huh, my banks I use let me take 25k, regardless of 1000 or 500 baht notes and the 25k is not a limit with the Thai banks, it is a limit from the Ozzie end. If the Ozzie bank had an increased daily limit, I would be able to take out 30k at a time.

Which bank's ATM's are you using that allow larger than 20K per withdrawl? I have a 100K THB limit at TFB and when I use ATM's at SCB I must withdrawl 20K max per transaction.

I used to withdraw 30 K at a time from BOA. Not used them in a long time but the max seems to be different per bank. Also the level of cash available in the ATM itself seems to be a factor. ATM's which I used for larger withdrawls (BOA) were able to give me one day 20, next day 30 per withdrawl. (?)
But the 100 K max per day seems to be the highest available at present.

Bangkok Bank lets you withdraw up to 150K per day if you have all that money in your account.

It depends also on the ATM card you use. Some thai banks provide a very basic ATM card which only allows you to retrieve a maximum of 20,000 Baht per withdrawal.
It is the case for my wife but she was charged only 50 baht for her ATM card (for a 2 years period). Mine costs me 250 baht (also for 2 years), but I can retrieve a maximum of 100,000 baht by day at the ATM (the ATM must be an ATM from the same bank). In most of the cases, the maximum number of banknotes that an ATM can deliver at a time is 20. So, if I want to retrieve more than 20K baht at the ATM, I have to perform the withdrawal in more than one operation...

I use HSBC ( Hong Kong Bank ) on Rama IV Road to withdraw money from my HSBC account in Hong-Kong.
I can withdraw upto B40,000 at a time but limited to 2 times per day ( i.e. a total of B80,000 per day )
