Chances are your existing DVD player can be hacked or modified to do the same. What brand and model is it? Most of the modifications just involve typing in enabling codes via the remote.

BTW, bought a ticket for Sunday School this evening. Not sure about it being sold out; perhaps the tix are all in the hands of your nearest Thai waitress or bartender.

Ya no one (Thai) that I've talked to knows a thing about it being sold out as well.
You might expect a fair amount of Palms crew in attendance as they are meant to be closed Monday for the big 'move'. I'll believe it when I see it.

Daffy- The DVD player I have now is a nice Sony 5-DVD carousal type and it would be worth me playing the $100 for another multi-region, standards converting piece of hardware.
Most of the mods I'm aware of would unlock region specific playback but do nothing to convert the PAL (or Secam) standard (s) out the back of the player to the 525 line NTSC TV set. This would require a hardware converter, AFAIK.

Yes, it's supposed to be sold out, 200 tix. Maybe they made some more up but I did confirm again from another source that it's sold out. But you have to put that into perspective. They'll probably make up and sell as many tickets as they can. This is their first event and the organizer doesn't know what to expect or how many will show. FYI, the tix were all initially given out to a bunch of "friends" for them to sell off. Supposedly all of them had been sold. It's a pretty big mess if you ask me and if everyone shows up, you can forget about standing room only. I was also witness to someone getting turned down for tix so maybe some of the tickets are finding their way back.
