I doubt that 10% - 90% is the proper ratio (maybe that was the case 50 years ago), but how much ever the proportion or amount of your input is, in LOS you will get something in return while in the west this is not the case at all.

In short, the story that you quoted us given you by your concubine is crap and full of holes. Put your foot down now about the money, make your stand very clearly, or this will ruin you.
I understand that you feel infatuated with this person. Emotions are liquor. You have to have the guts to say, "This is it. Take it or leave it." If your concubine asks for an advance on salary then you should have a clear policy; it can't be 5 times their normal salary for God's sake! If they want a raise then they have to fill out an application and have a performance review. One mustn't be cavalier with the forms!
This perspective may sound extreme, but I don't think it's extreme enough. Take care.

i did not post on lb forum as this is a money matter (and I thought id get more replies here truth be known.)
by sheer number of posters, the correct action to take no action. That’s the hardest course to take though, im pretty pissed at the mom (despite what you always about thai culture) its inexcusable to run up this huge debt and ask someone on the breadline to pay up (I can understand why my gf asked me for help.)
I’m not doing anything until I talk to my gf in real-time and learn more, if I find out that money for repairs went on a new rug or something (id sooner flush down the toilet!) if its to ensure the house doesn’t collapse fair enough.
