I agree with you.
But I now have two buddies with Thai wives, here in UK, and they seem well settled and happy.
I said I agree with you in that a great awareness of the dangers and risks is needed in "Disneyland".
But just sometimes things can work out OK

Just to make it clear (though I think I have before) I would absolutely never suggest that it is impossible to have a happy ending with a TG or even a BG etc.
Though we may differ on the degree of probability, most of us would agree that it is somewhat rare; Nonetheless I know for certain that it IS possible.

Hello all
Guess I did read something about Disneyland and Bangkok. I read so much on Bangkok I don;t know where I heard that. However MY point was to try to remember places like Thailand Philippines Rio de janearo Costa rica Ect ect all provied the AVE joe a escape into a sort of fantesy land that you can;t get at home. Lets face it If AVE JOE BLOW was getting all the attention, ego boosts, and since of power he recieves in these places why would he leave home and fly halfway around the world?? Bandit did mention a good source to refer in the way things should be handled in Bangkok. Stickman is knowlageable in the ways. When you get 1 thing thru your heads That you can not save any of these girls then you find a good peace in your thoughts Rock on guys

I am not an evangelist. I am watching someone save themself and simply providing minimal assistance. Generally I agree with B4B's comments re: enjoy yourself and forget the attachments.....take it for what it is....the entertainment business.

Forget the attachments? Well, I guess some guys come here looking for attachments - whether they're aware of it or not. Others are genuinely anxious not to get attached, but... well, accidents happen.
If you have any kind of heart, I don't see how you can avoid this risk while playing the game in LOS. Well, I suppose you can, if you can convince yourself that all BGs are hardened, mercenary little bitches, and nothing could possibly work out.
Imho that's too high a price to pay if you want to get the most out of these girls, and in any case it's living a lie. If the likes of tpe and Mr Joe assure us that it CAN work out - very rarely, indeed, but sometimes - then it's just perverse not to accept this as fact.
I suspect the big mistake is to have far too rigid a view of things - always likely to lead to grief of some sort in LOS. On the one hand you have the mercenary little whore, out to entrap you but you're too smart. f_ck and forget. On the other, you have the ideal of the devoted little lady - ever faithful, entirely dependent on you. How dare she not put all her hopes in you, whoremongering philanderer though you obviously are? How dare she not stay stuck in a small apartment all day, learning English to serve you the better? Why should you give a shit if she misses her friends and is having no fun? After all, you're sending her money, right? And that's all she cares about, right?
In my experience, it's possible to conceive a real affection for these girls (or some of them), even fall in love with them (in a sense), without succumbing to the notion that you've found a lifelong companion or soul-mate. People relate on all kinds of different levels. Maybe you share a similar sense of humour. Maybe you click in bed. Maybe you adore her beautiful manners, and she appreciates the fact that you honour her as someone unique and special. I don't think it's just we punters who find these situations ambivalent and sometimes difficult. How could they not be when so much intimacy is shared?
My own solution is to have several regulars on the go at the same time. I love them all, one way or another, and this stops me putting all my emotional eggs in one basket. Keeps me safe. Or at least safe-ish. So far... Ý Ý

Bravo. Fully agree and have said much of that before (or should have  ) -- which is not to take anything away from Arcadius' insight whatsoever. One new bit that I think is VERY insightful and very true is this:

Brilliant. And though I wouldn't ever try to convince anyone of this, I know it's sometimes true that the lady is also conflicted as the guy. That's when they will often fall back on standard BG behavior and thus appear heartless andf uncaring but in fact its all they can do to protect themselves (or at least that's what they might think). I speak not from experience only (and thus with a biased view) but from countless conversations with BGs where I was the shoulder on which to cry...and from much observation and analysis.
Sorry for going on too much but I really think people should heed Arcadius' post as well as the warnings in other posts.
