Well, that's certainly true.
I have difficulty imagining Thailand without the P4P scene and the girls; but then I can't really imagine the scene & the girls outside the wider Thai context either. To my mind, it's all an integrated package. The huge difference here is that P4P is not shunted off into some shadowy ghetto - it's part & parcel of the way ordinary society functions, and it's more-or-less open.
As for the women, I'd say it's more of a spectrum than a clear dichotomy - good girls on one side, prostitutes on the other. What with rented wives and mia nois, 'straight' girls who dabble (or have dabbled) in P4P on a very part-time basis, and the Thai custom of giving and receiving cash in contexts which Westerners find inappropriate, there's a very large grey area. As we all know, even the full-time professionals are (or can be) an awful lot more than prostitutes in the narrow Western sense. In this arena, Western concepts and terminology just don't translate well at all.
The glory of the LOS set-up is that there are far more ways of satisfying your female requirements than in the West. Back home, where the parameters of acceptable behaviour are far narrower, it can often be extremely difficult to square your sexual/emotional needs with your current circumstances. In LOS, there's nearly always a way. There's no point knocking guys whose modus operandi is very different from yours, because what they want or need from women at this point in their lives may be very different from what you want at this point in yours.

P4P allws you to enjoy the moment - which is really all you are paying for - and all you want to pay for.
Long term relationships are a very different form of P4P and the two should not be mentioned in the same breath or the same post!
I had an outstanding time at Yurune's Sat. night bash because it enabled me to have a h*ll of a good time and the worse thing I can expect from the next day is a hangover and a good laugh when I look at the photos!

Couldn't resist replying to this one.
There is no protitution in Thailand. If I wanted that rubbish I can go to Birmingham. It's not the same in LOS- what you have is a recognition of the blended relationship between money and sex/love. Every girl in the world wants a man who's sorted enough to have got ahead in the world so he can provide for his lady. You just give her some money in the morning as you feel and she's very unlikely to argue- an unthinkable thing to do for any normal girl.
Now, in the screwed-up West, relations between people are broken down such that prostitution is invented and you can spend weeks 'socializing' in your local town with scarcely a chance of even meeting a girl of any interest to you at all.
The great thing about the Far East is that you can meet her and the money issue does not arise- and therefore it's easy to make her fall for you- if you're a cool, solid guy who treats her right: that's what she's looking for, of course. If the girl I sleep with doesn't come, I'm very disappointed and have to work out why.
I don't know how well I've explained this, but I wish everyone to understand: remember we're only from backward, messed-up societies.
