For those of you who have actually met me... Yes, believe it or not, I to used to weigh 150lbs.  Honest.
Now its up near 200, and trying for that big elusive 225... But its hard work...

Just happens to be that p4p in the LOS happens to have the best price/performance ratio - even once you take the trip cost into consideration.
Lastly, good for you that you found a modus vivendi that works for you, be it vegan, or what not. While I'm fond of good vegetarian dishes, the whole militarism about the vegan lifestyle just isn't to my taste (no pun intended), but if you can make it work for you, more power to you.
You might have an initially hard time complying with it, as most food places have meat products (and there's some mighty good food out there). Unless you are the kind of person that will fall off the wagon, you might want to relax your veganism a bit while there, as otherwise you won't be enjoying your vacation. You can find plenty of alternative foods that are just vegetarian, if you just want to avoid meat.

She sure did. I think it was I the April Hustler, or something like that. I'll check with her on the exact issue. I'm trying to convince her to write more stories on Thailand. Privilege comes to mind, but it must be amidst a select and elite group of participants...

I know I'll get flamed, but when I said ugly-American, I meant the loud mouthed condescending "we are no. 1" type people from US and not the Americans I get to usually meet on my travels or at work, the open minded, French loving (atleast liking), people. 
I was talking to a doctor friend, and he told me that listerine really doesn't help kill germs like Neisseria gonorrhoeae etc. It mostly helps with gingivitis germs etc. Either way your mouth has tremendous protection with the natural amts of bacteria and virus in it (Which you probably inherited from your mother). So there, all that paranoid rinsing will really do you know good other than make SmithKiline-Beecham more money. 
Also, showering 3, 4 times a day is of no use unless you are terribly terribly dirty or work in a pig stye or make love 3 or 4 times.
Remember, people surprisingly have a lot of natural defences and unfortunately no amt of washing and scrubbing will save you from the real deadly viruses.
Anyway, sorry TigerCode for teasing you yesterday, you have every right to look down on people who eat f_cked up stuff, are not Christians, and support gay people. Anyway, good luck Mosseur.
EDIT: Re meat eating. It is actually more "natural" for us to eat meat. If were to be vegans, then like cows our eyes would be on our sides  , we are predetors and predetors eat other animals. Ok, so Escargot doesn't really take a lot of predation.
