Your exactly right about the amount of money makes no difference. I shelled out thousands of dollars and a new car for a former TGF.
I think most BGs everywhere are this way. You're either their walking ATM (you can control while they are infront of you and not on their handphone) called sugar daddy or the one they take care of (they control) called boyfriend. In most cases you need to be similar age, background, ethnicity, have little or no money, etc. to fall into the latter catagory.
In regards to using a private investigator,
I had hired off-duty police (2500 baht a day) and bouncers at her work for investigation. For 2 months, different off-duty thai police officers would follow her to and from school, and work everyday. One of the officers was a highschool sweetheart of my secretary's. Also, a bouncer would check to see who she went home with. She always came out clean and no wrongdoing in all of their reports; no go with customers and no boyfriends. Since that time, I have found that their reports were not close to being accurate. A friend of hers told me she had a young thai boy relationship during the time of the investigation and my TGF admitted to it, if I didn't tell her mom about the other relationship with the thai boyfriend. I have yet to tell her mom, but repaid her best friend in other ways then financial during my last visit to LOS. Her best friend wants a farang bf, but thanks my new found understanding learnt in this forum, I will take my time. Birds of a feather, flock together.
Was it sloppy investitgation work, do Thais protect eachother, or a little bit of both?

One of the investors of my company in Bangkok was shelling out loads of cash to a BG here and he used the Thai Privet Eye on this forum. He told me he found out allot about her. Some good, some bad.
With my humble knowledge of the world whether you want a new roof or a good meal you should always go to the specialist professionals. From what my friend said this guy is the business. Hope that helped.

As some of the faithful to this forum may recall, Balls once said, "I may be in love with my TGF, but I'm not stupid in love." By which I meant if the understanding my TGF and I have about sponsorship, etc. was not being honored in a reasonable way, I would act.
Well, there were some interesting smoke signals that I saw floating on the horizon recently that caused me to act, so I engaged TPE. Always been curious to see if Cmore's proverbial "other shoe" would drop in the two and a half years I've known her, and, sadly, it seemed like that was about to be the case.
Without going into the details, suffice to say that TPE has the ability to garner what you need to know, when you need it. And very discretely. I had expressed my concern to TPE that I didn't want to ruin the relationship over nothing, and that my TGF must absolutely have no idea I was checking on this stuff.
I agree with much of what Arcadius and company have said in this thread, so I don't expect angelic behavior from a 26 yo ex-bg. Hell, I'm no saint either, can't be the pot callin' the kettle "black." But I do have certain expectations based on what my TGF and I seem to have carved out. The net out of the TPE report was: TGF appears to be on the up and up, relative to Thailand and our long distance affairs. There was some interesting subterfuge in all this (some by me, some by her, guess I've been watching too many late night Thai TV mini-dramas), but overall, I don't see any reason to part with my TGF.
So here's my take on all this: If you are sponsoring your TGF, ask yourself what the agreement is. Also ask yourself where you expect the relationship will go and when. Because you can bet she is constantly doing the math. She's playing by home rules, why shouldn't she -- as you may have noticed, she's Thai, not farang. Despite the ups and downs and the breast beating on Stickman's site, I've met a number of farang/thai couples in the last couple or years that had roots in the bar scene. They are doing just fine together, are happy and tolerant of each other. And many have kids. They have no reason to whine on Stick's webpage.
You also have to take the long view. Fast forward to your old age: you and your Thai wife, have weathered the various storms of your many years together, sitting in your stilt house upcountry while you enjoy a good cigar and a cola (liver doesn't like Mekong anymore, lol) on a hot and lazy afternoon (after a leisurely soapy in the local establishment, ha!). You look back on the early years, and they seem kind of silly in retrospect. You are happy you had the presence of mind and the mutual respect to hang in there. You think your Thai partner wouldn't be thinking the same thing?
So it appears that Cmore's proverbial other shoe has not dropped (guess I won't be able to lure Cmore out of retirement by mentioning his name here, despite the nastiness on that other thread wherein he's tendered his forum resignation). And I'm happy that professionals like TPE and forums like this exist to allow me a rational view of what I'm doing in LOS. If in doubt, hire TPE. But first and foremost, remember what sandlot you're playing in, when you step onto the tarmac at Don Muang. You ain't in Kansas, anymore, thank goodness.

Never forget Thai's will stick together and you really did not hire a professional service only a bubblegum detective who saw a quick way to make a baht. I have even seen where the BD will get a payoff from the girl in question in exchange for a good report and since that money is coming from your sponsership you are paying double.
