I have no doubt that the BG who sent me my text messages was of a similar ilk - the fact she did was nice and it made me feel good...end...I am under no illusions about motive...however I was still pleased to get them....I am thinking maybe I have been in Thailand too many times and for too long...I read ftumch's post and imagine I was the guy in Europe....my girl is drunk to the point of illness and is taking it up the arse from a customer... Good post, Abrak. BG's who master the trade ( making her customers happy) stay in business and can sometime hit jackpot by getting sponsored or "married" to a long distant farang. They respect "successful" (=$$) farangs. And we respect good actresses (=BGs). Can it go further than that ? Sure it can, but do you really want to do that with a BG?

One of the worse things about 'sponsorship' deals is that they are usually an arrangement of 'mutual mistrust'. You sponsor a girl on the basis of that she will be loyal to you (when you rightly suspect that you wont). She is sponsored in the belief that you will remain loyal to her when her looks and earning potential begin to fade (when she rightly suspects that you will dump her for a new brighter model at the first opportunity).
It really isnt surprising that most of these relationships are doomed to failure.

Never understood that - it seems so pointless.
I mean, if you're a guy who knows what the game is all about, and you sponsor a girl, then you should at least have the emotional maturity of being cognizant of what she does (or, who she does). It's part of her job - even if you sponsor her to a high tune of Baht (especially if you leave her in LOS).
I maintain friendships and relationships with a few girls back in LOS, and while I certainly don't sponsor them, I do send them $$$ gifts for birthdays and New Year. We are also very aware that I know well what they do, and as a result, there is no (to my knowledge) lying about all kinds of things - they tell me what's going on in their lives, their work, their sponsors (or not), and so on... In other words, those who maintain that no deep conversations can be had with BG/TGs clearly doesn't know how to talk (or rather, listen).
The key is, at least what works for me, is to not bullshit, and not lie -- as a result, I'm not being lied to (by THESE girls... I know fully well that other girls lie to me for various reasons).
So, the kind of guys who sponsor a girl, and base the entire relationship on mistrust, are simply the kind of person I don't understand... then again, that's probably the same kind of person with EVERY relationship in their lives -- i.e. basing it mistrust, and dishonesty.
Just IMO, YMMV.

Point taken mate. Just thought I'd share that one with you. It made me laugh. The dumb ass in Europe thought his girl was going "huh" because she was drunk and retching (well she was) but she was also doing it cause she was getting banged as well. Marvellous.

But I was also being serious in a sense.
Bar girls are not the brightest by and large. Some know what they are doing and why they are doing it. Dr. L looks as they he has vaguely honest relationships with these girls and those who frequent massage parlours see a fairly pure sex for money kind of arrangement.
A lot of westerners who come here tend to get very confused because they equate their western values of sex and friendship and assume that BGs have the same values. When they begin to develop honest feelings for these girls based on their white lies and then get let down in their expectations, they often move from one extremely to another and assume that all TGs are like BGs.
Matters are complicated because, I suspect many bar girls are confused by western values which conflict with the values they have been brought up with.
