Jetseti, number one you could follow the plan previously posted and which atl smartly posts first just above. That will give you some perspective on your lover's character and imagination.
Or number two, you could practice the word No in the mirror. Look at yourself there fiercely and say things like, It's my life God damnit. My Life!!!! I love myself!!! I was born to be wild, happy, free!!!!!! I'm beautiful, baby, beautiful. Nobody can tie me down!!! Yeah!!!! Whoooo!!!!!!!.............. Then call up your lover. If this issue comes up, say "Maybe later"... Thai's don't like to hear "No" It's too violent for them... You can last forever on "I'll check. Maybe later." Get it? They should if they're reasonable and considerate Thai people. If there IS a problem, or the inane requests persist (they are inane), move to step two which is putting your foot down and elaborating the rules as I posted above. At little of this and the cat will be out of the bag: You'll be sick of it or s/he will or you'll learn to get along.

atl's wife is a Thai girl, of course she will say give the money. Most Thai girls would say that farang should give money. Hey atl, if you're sharing this forum with your wife, please don't show her my FRs, she'll not think they are funny.
The bottom line is that it is up to him to give or not give. He won't be respected any more by her if he gives (probably respected less), and by giving he will strengthen her view of him as a source for money. By saying no, he might never have this question again.
But he might feel better giving, because "thailand horible now" 
And seajohn is absolutely right, "I cannot now, maybe later" is a "no" that is softer. Try it.
