Butteflying in the same bar?
It is all about the way you start. If a girl knows from the first minute that you are on holiday to screw as many girls as possible she will call you a big butterfly, giggle and then everything is OK. Sort of like setting out your stall.
Doing it the other way round is not streetsmart. Humping a girl for a night or two and then saying that you want to butterfly. Can produce a pouty cutie!
Hey, snp, I just googled for a load of butterflies, it is a rabble! Now is that suitable or what?

Couple of years ago I took girl B from my usual BKK bar to Pattaya for a few days because my regular, girl A was unavailable. A week later back in farangland and I get a pissed-off type email from girl A detailing when, where and how often I had done the deed with girl B (13 in 3 days but I was drunk alot of the time so no fair on the US v Aussie comparisons okay?).
A few weeks later back in LOS I fronted girl B over giving such specific details to Girl A, she looked blank for a moment, strongly denied telling Girl A anything, paused and then added that maybe Girl C or Girl D or the mamasan might have told her....
Of course, Girl B had been boasting to all and sundry in her workplace how she was clearly "hot stuff" - she'd even made a guy twice her age want her like he was some over-sexed school boy for three days....Enjoy.

To reply to the paragraph of yours which I quoted above, quack quack, I think you are right however I would also posit that in Thailand I think it is probable that loss of income = loss of face. And conversely, big income = big face.
This doesn't contradict your post. But I don't think the two are separate. Though of course there are also ways for a girl to get face without getting income, per se.

Minder is spot on. She sets a minimum Standard of Acceptance (SOA) that the start of the vacation and then holds both of us to it.

Very sensitive subject, I know... but why does a Foreigner need to be involved in a Bar's internal politics?
Face, no face....
can't we just keep it simple?
For example: you like a certain bar, and a certain girl (other than the one you previously had) so you barfine that other girl and have a good time.
I barfined a girl from Mandarin twice already and when I went to the bar, she was with another Farang... so I picked another girl.
I could see the girl was not necessarily happy, but what is one supposed to do? walk away with lust for a girl you can have but won't barfine because another girl who will get laid with another guy will be upset?
Not logical to me...interesting how this seems to work only one way...
As far as I am concerned, I spend money on things I like, and if I happend to like a girl then so be it, I barfine her.
Sure I won't be the most popular guy in the bar, I don't really look for that anyway, but at least I spend time with women I want to bed.
Maybe my attitude is motivated by the fact that I am only with these girls for a fun time... I'm not looking for a girlfriend or a wife in the bar.
I respect the fact that a lot of members are worried about the "Face" issue..., I do too, but just have a hard time believing that you picking another girl from a bar is a Loss of face... they play it that way so we feel sad about that... Farang has a weak heart LOL
anyway, I am not sure my post makes sense anymore... sorry about wasting your time.

It comes down to something that was said in the very beginning of this thread - "So it is up to him as to what he does. But he must live by that."
The original issue was about a promise given - it has only recently degenerated into the old "can I sleep with another girl in the same bar". In the end, though, it's up to you what you do, but you must lilve by it, and with it.
Personally, I have also barfined many ladies at Mandarin, and never had an issue with it on the girl's side. Yeah, the occasional sad face, but then I usually buy the girl another drink, bring her a comical gift, or something, and we all smile about it. Besides, it helps to do that with the girls that get barfined a lot, as then I get to beam back the same sad face, followed by a big grin -- she grins back, and we're all on track. Damn, there's just too many great looking girls at Mandarin
