One of the best threads for a while, thanks for going (BKK2nite) public forsa.
If someone has a relationship with a non bar girl, ie someone you meet at MBK or wherever, once the relationship is established do these girls also have problems same same as P4P girls? ie: brother have accident on motorbike, mamma sick etc etc.
It would appear to me that a girls family puts pressure on the girl when they know she has farang boyfriend, I imagine this would apply if girl is P4P or not.

The best advice I was ever given concerning BGs is that since you are the type that may develop feelings for these girls go for it!! BUT...develop feelings for 3 girls or so...that way it is all kept more in perspective and you can achieve a sense of equilibrium. If you lub one too much then she will become a larger than life constant drain on your emotional well being.
If you do this and toss in a bit of butterflying on the side you end up walking away feeling in love with LOS rather than one problematic BG.

Coming from a family with a Thai mom and white father, I can assure you that the gap is vast between western and Thai thinking; even after two people live together (happily mostly) for 35 years.
Certainly, the language barrier is one thing; the way in which emotions are expressed is another; the way in which conflict is handled (or avoided more likely in Thai terms) is a third; the importance of "truth" is a fourth; and the importance of closure and "principles" is really something that seems to be big in USA and western countries more than other places I've seen. Like, people might say, I won't do this or that because it is the principle of the thing - like - even though I don't know any gay people I really object to the right for them to get married - a point that is totally not affecting them, yet big enough to help decide an election. Or the right to carry guns - etc etc - it is not right or wrong, just a far more big view picture than most Thai people carry around in their own views of the world.
With this in mind, it is no surprise that the woman did what she did; I see no surprises at all in this story - you didn't front up (the original guy) so she found someone else. Why you want to screw it up for the new guy I don't understand. Find someone else, and stop trying to screw everything up for everyone involved (you could get yourself in trouble if this guy is connected to some of the low life farang around Thailand) for the benefit of knowing what happened.
The sort of outpourings you see on Ricky Lake and other dodgy TV shows - that is the western idea of "getting everything out in the open". Doesn't exist here.
Incidentally, the recommendation of MBK is kinda funny, since that is like full of many Thai women very close to the P4P scene or in it; from the frying pan to the fire there is some saying there?! The way and suggestions of many in this thread suggest strongly that a fair few are not looking for anything more than a free f&*k buddy and in that case why get emotionally attached?!

FYI RU is considered a leading Thai law school. Few people graduate because they don't spoon feed their students; I think the graduation rate is like 30% of their intake - I agree that many of the students there will never graduate because they are just there to waste time, but for many this is their best chance to get a degree that their parents slaving in a rice field can help pay for.
Our ranking for intake of staff would be something like:
first rate: CU, TU, ABAC, MU, SNU
next grade: RU, BU, HGK, etc etc:
next grade: KKU, TB, etc etc
but for law... RU probably 1st, certainly within the top 3. bear in mind, before he was chucked out for cheating, that Oak, the PM's son... with the choice of pretty much any university around.... he was attending RU.
