Actually, yes, they are the same.
but it all depends on the punter's attitude. If you fall for that crap, they will do it and make you feel guilty, but if you are firm, they will keep quiet and make you enjoy the time you are paying for.
you think they would behave like this with Thai customers? never! thai guys are no pushovers, they would remind the girl immediately what her place is.

I've just read back over the last two pages and I suppose the general impression is that girls here in a relatively poor and developing country are on the look-out for making money.
Aren't we all ?
Where is the difference ?
Then of course the impression of bar-girls is that they are the worst for this. This may or may not be true,for the fact is that I have had very little dealings with ladies outside of the industry.
But I feel that I have to mention that a rather well-known lady from a blow-job bar, who was living with me at the time, asked to borrow 100,000 baht for the purchase of something agricultural back in the village within the first two months of living with her. I gave it to her.
Our relationship lasted for a couple of years.
Three months after separating, she returned the money in full. I hadn't mentioned it at all. And she's still a gem.
This is not to say that I haven't come across many who would take what they can and more and more and still want more. I just avoid those people. And they come in all walks of life, from all countries and are both men and women.
Nic Frenchy's suggestion about the paying to leave contention being possibly a man's ploy to rid himself of guilt is a good one. This also accounts for many a negative statement on these pages and elsewhere.

As a seasoned traveler I have not fallen for that crap in over 30 years, but it does not stop them from behaving that way.
I remember a Filipina that I pulled for a night of P4P who began stalking me and once confronted me when I was with another lady.
I can also name a lady at M2N that throws a hissy fit if I bring in a girl to the bar.
Really.... how often do we advise newbies not to pull a different girl from the same bar that you pulled a girl from previously.
Like any other small service provider they do get jealous about their clients jumping to another provider and they expect a 'Hong Bao' in addition to their fees at the end of the service.
The only place I have found Quim's observation to be true are in the sex-mill operations in Western Nations where the ladies have a pimp or driver waiting so they literally fly out the door when the act is done.
I guess this sense of possesiveness is want endears LOS and the PI to so many punters...

CS, you may have missed the slight tongue in cheek aspect of what I was saying, since you seem to think I was talking about p$p in in the West. Trust me, if I was talking about that benighted world, I would be using a lot harsher words to describe the dynamic involved.
I love the p$p scene in LOS precisely because of the GFE, as I have said many times. And that, of course, is in tension with the notion that we pay them to leave. After all, girlfriends don't tend to f*** us and leave. They tend to stay the night, and cuddle close, and sleep in, and ask us to make them breakfast, and call them later. And I love all that about the p$p scene in LOS.
But who are we kidding? I am still paying them for sex, which give me the right to ask them to leave whenever I want, a luxury I do not enjoy with my real girlfriends, at least not if I expect them to return. I pay them so that I don't have to call them, except when I want to. I pay them, so that I know that I will have sex at the end of the evening, and in the morning too, if that's the deal. I pay them, so that I can enjoy the best things about a GFE, but without most of the drama.
And I say "most", because of course you are right, there is still drama in the LOS p$p world precisely because the lines get blurred, emotions creep in, because there is still face to be upheld, and so on, and so on.
I am repeating myself from elsewhere, but the GFE as I define it is being able to have your cake and eat it too. Being able to have a intensely intimate, fun, sexy experience with a girl you just met earlier that evening. And to be able to have it over and over again with a new girl as often as you are lucky to come across it, without any real strings or obligations or feelings of guilt when you turn to the next. And all that, let's be honest, is only possible because I am paying her.
Gik's are more complicated, precisely because there is something more invested. There is an attachment, and an understanding. A genuine connection that gets repeated. They exist half way between the GF and the pure p$p experience (e.g., a soapy/oily/BJ). But of course, it is all on a sliding scale, where nothing is purely one thing or another, at least not in LOS. And again, that's what makes it so interesting and enjoyable.
You can make a connection just about anywhere, at any time. But as long as the encounter involves some money changing hands, it is a lot easier to walk away afterwards. That's all I really meant to say.

I'm not trying to sound harsh, but in over 5 years here now, had a LOT of P4P and never did fall in love with any of these girls.
Sure I was a regular with some but never did the Illusion replaced reality.
As long as you can separate Illusion from reality then LOS is great fun.
Having said that, it's not because I say to be firm and not take shit from the girl that I mean you have to be an asshole... you can still remind her that she is here to serve you, with a smile on your face.

From my experience this is only relatively true... In many cases, yes, they asked about staying all night regardless of any LT or ST agreement ( I hardly talk about money anyway) One regular even asked for a place to sleep desperately when she saw me somewhere late in the night and she she left no doubt it wasn't about any ST/LT business... They have their arrangement and share appt. and such...
But I also had a lot of cases where the birds preferred to leave the nest early without any sign of bad rapport or something... I can only speculate about the reasons... children, Thai bf, bg socializing... or simply ME  Nahhh.... not *me*... I'm sure I never ever snore...
