Ironically the reason had to do with parking. Palms did the lion share of business at Hobart/Hollywood mini mall yet they had no control over the recent Valet parking take-over. Owner didn't like it, or the folks doing it. But didn't have a choice. 'Cept to move. (I'm sure there were other reasons besides parking..)
But it was a good call as the new place just shines. The parking will be sorted out in time.

Was there yesterday for dinner at the last remaining retaurant in that strip mall - the empty parking lot, and the bored parking guys were a sight to behold.
Didn't know the parking wasn't Palms' gig to begin with -- I doubt the parking business will survive much longer.

Another edition of Sunday School is taking place at The Stone tonight (Sunday July 31). Should be a decent but smaller crowd than two weeks ago. I've been told they will not forget to hold the drawing for prizes this time.

I will also have to miss the 13th. RR- I take it you've been to TOT post renovation? Looks pretty cool from the outside. Water streaming down the window behind the bar and looks like outside table dining, at least on the weekends.
If you're around this week after 9pm send me a text as I'd really like to check this place out if you're up for it..
Do you know anything about the Thai super model happening at the Convention cnter on the Sunday Aug. 21st?

Ruen Pair and Ganda, the other two restaurants left in the Hobart & Hollywood strip mall will be joined soon by yet one more new-comer; RCA.
As was reported earlier here (in some thread or another) the place indeed is called RCA. Tho it's a proper restaurant not a night-club/bar as was previously thought.
Aug 19th is the supposed opening date. As I understand it, it's owned by the BKT (Bahn Kanom Thai-Music/DVD/Books store. ) people...

The Thai supermodel thing on the 21st is the finals for the event. You'll recognize one of the KT gals if you go. I believe it's a bikini competition and dress as well.
Sunday School is out for a while. Good turnout like last time except for a fight at the end.

Had not heard about this supermodel event. Found this rather uninformative website about it: http://www.thailand-supermodel.com/
I'll probably check it out. If anyone is going, make sure you choose the correct hall. Other events at the Convention Center that day are the Gay Erotic Expo and Nueva Vision En Espiritu Santo. Hate to see anyone expecting visions of Thai supermodels, only to come away with a spiritual experience of another kind.

Saw that scuffle at the end too. Seems that fights are becoming all too common around Thai Town lately. Saw confrontations at TOT each of the last two weekends. Heard of a slashing at Pattaya Bay about a week ago. And then the scuffle at The Stone that spilled out onto the sidewalk. Kids +  =
