I have done it a few times with girls I have known very well. Not a problem. Some of them have quite nice pads, especially if they have a sponsor.
Once did with a girl I didn't know. She took me to some god awful shack off Rama 3 somewhere where all her family were sleeping in the same room. She curtained off a space, threw down a soft duvet type thing and proceeded to shag me. It was quite erotic thinking I'm shagging your daughter mate. I have gone to a Gogo girl's room and so has a good friend of mine here in Bkk. Not on a first meeting, of course. But after she knows you, it is her way of sharing her life with you in a small way.

And why would she want to risk a confrontation between a customer and a Thai BF ??

If you have seen her several times, I recommend going to see just how Spartan their life is. No AC and sometimes not even a fan, often no hot water, and many times sharing a very small room with 2-3 other girls. You can see why staying with you is something she would do for free if she could afford freebies and also save face while doing it.

So you see there are no hard and fast rules. As DL and BKKfella say it's not to be recommended unless you know the girl well. I was a fool to go that time with somebody I didn't know. My excuse is that I was a newbie, pissed and didn't know where we were going - a potentially lethal combination.

I've shacked up with BGs before in their rooms
had one in Phuket in the early 90s who had a rather large room, but the mattress was simply laying on the floor, on a piece of linoleum floor cover
the rest of the floor was wooden planks, and you could see through the cracks
she shared a house on a hill with a few other gals from the Irish bar
we stayed together for 3 days, and f***ed like rabbits
oh, no aircon of course, but we did have a fan
her clothing was in those plastic armoires with the zipper front 
we sat around screwing and eating monkey meat on a stick
I still think of her when I have thinly sliced chicken on a stick 
Went to a few BGs rooms in Pattaya as well, most recently was Buffalo Bar, nice room actually on Soi Boowakoa

I lived with a BG for awhile in Pattaya. Nice big room, quiet side of the building down a quiet dead-end doi, semi-jungle outside the window. No a/c only fan but I prefer that so no prob. No kitchen but 40 baht meals at the apartment cafe.
She had a proper bed, big armoire and nice new large TV set plus DVD player. TV and DVD were hers and she paid 3500 a month for the room.
Went to another BGs room twice and it was small, grotty, hole in the floor pisser and only cold shower. I wouldn't have wanted to see it in the daytime.
A very good friend, ex-BG, has a decent room tucked down a soi in Naklua and she has it outfitted quite nicely: leather sofa (a gift, natch), full-length IKEA-style wall shelving unit, TV & DVD, nice bed with headboard and side tables etc etc. She pays 1000 a month and its not bad, has kitchen and shower with falang toilet.
Other girls live above the bar 3 and 4 to a room paying 500 each so they can send money home for kid's school fees etc.

I went to one in Samui last year - was 12 of them in big room upstairs from the bar and one toilet/bathroom.
No aircon just a fan here and there - I guess the bar-owner charged a nominal fee

I've visited two B/G's accomodation, one in Samui, the other in Phuket.
Both were simple rooms with a thin mattress on the floor, with maybe 2 - 3 to a room, basic wash facilities and just a fan. The wardrobes are those basic, zip up ones.
It was interesting in Samui, as there was a small street restaurant near to the complex of rooms, that served delicious food, where you could eat with all the other b/g's  for a fraction of the price of the more pricer restaurants...
My heart really went out to them when I compared my accomodation to theirs, no wonder a lot of them like staying in the bungalows/ hotel rooms...!
