Hi all,
After usually being very careful about this sort of thing, I've got a problem with a Thai girl I met recently. She turned on the sob stories and I foolishly lent her some money which she now refuses to pay back. In retrospect I can see that everything she said was a web of lies, but at the end of the day have I got to accept it as a foolish mistake or would the Thai police do anything to help ? Its not a huge sum of money but its the principle more than anything. I've got her Id card and I know where she lives, but I am not the kind to threaten her physically.
I don't want to go to the police without getting some feedback here first.
Incidentally, she hangs out in Gullivers and Nana disco, her name is Min and she's usually with a girl called Pim. They are both small and Min is especially cute - she also has a small tattoo of a cross on her left breast. If you come across this girl be very wary of her. Everything she says is bullshit.

The Thai police will have absolutely no interest in your dealings with a Thai hooker.
If you are interested in getting your money back or exacting revenge you could explain to her that if she doesnt give your money back within 3 days a copy of her ID will appear on the internet exposing her as both a hooker and a thief. That should do the trick.
If not, well publish her ID on the internet and write-off the lost money.

well, one thing is that you can tell her or call her saying that you are horny and want to have sex, a 3 some. make her call another friend to come to your hotel room. Before doing anyting, she will surely ask you to pay her first, but insist you will pay her after the deed. And when done, tell her this is for the money she owes you. Hows that for a plan?

IMHO, let it go, forget about it, it is not worth threatening her... think of allthe things she could do in reaction to a threats, and say "is it worth it?" Live and learn.

If you have her ID...offer to sell it back to her.
If she declines it will be a lot of hassle for her to function without the ID, she'll have to go back up-country to sort it out etc etc.
However....be aware that you are probably already breaking the law as a foreigner holding her ID (not so much constitutional law, but the law as enforced by a Thai Policemen when she brings him to meet you)
Try it but don't take the bluff too far.....and also be aware that she may carry the grudge a long time, whether she was wrong to start the problem or not. You want that hanging over you?

edit: Funnily enough I still have the ID of a girl from 14 years ago....I'm still not sure how I got it...but it's there in my house as we speak

Try to keep it as friendly as you can - maybe she can work it off for you. You never want it to get nasty as it can spoil it for you in a particular area you may like to frequent. Also their aim with an empty beer bottle is legendary.
I'd chalk it up to experience.
