Okay, here is one for comments. I have not read it anywhere else. Maybe its a first, haha.
Q1. You come to LOS to have fun and maybe try to find a Thai GF. You ask people or it may come up in general conversation while having the odd drink or 2. The seasoned veterans will say, 'If you are looking for a Thai GF, dont get one out of the bar, go to the country and find one, they are better'. I see the value in that comment, having been with many P4P in BKK.
Remember it is now low season, June, July,August/Sept.
I have a couple of mates who have found their wives/GF and they are happy, good luck to them, they have not been dissapointed, they found the Right ladies.
The bar scene in BKK/Krabi is a bit quiet. A lot of the girls have gone back to the farm/be with family/or just have a rest prior to the forthcoming season, hope those little holes do not heal altogether 5555555.
So the tourist who comes here takes on all advice he has learnt from the vets, or at least he should take in all advice, through it around in his head and take the best route that suits him/her.
ANS. He goes to the country area of LOS, settles in to some nice little village/town/small city and thinks this is great. He is relaxed, having a good time and notices all these ladies. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. He thinks to himself, these ladies are at least a 6, 7,8 or better, why are they here and not in the bars. (It is low season stupid)
He courts a lady, takes her flowers, food, gifts of gold etc of which she has whispered in his ear in a late night of passion. She also says, 'me no like big city, I live in country, me virgin'. He is Caught and does not know it.
She was a city bar girl about 1 month prior and just moved back to the farm. The visitor thinks he has found a nice country girl, not a p4p girl. He is in heaven, all things round and beautiful. If it works out for them, great, hope they can make the most of it.
IMHO, in high season, girls go to the big city. In low season girls go back to the country. How would you know????? Some may have tatt's, belly piercing, shaved pussy, but they can say, "I get in next village only 1 month ago.
This is a great place for games and I love it. I will not get caught again. hahahha.

I find Barrafish had a somewhat interesting thought that has gotten clouded by an unfortunate lack of eloquence and focus in his post.
Could you do better at finding a more legitimate lady if you went up north or to another remote location during high season? A simple and, likely flawed theory, would be that the ones who are BGs will be out of town leaving mostly nice girls only.
Sorry...can't buy that one....there are way too many brothels in rural areas for that to be a likely scenario. Dont forget that these locals only remote places have higher incidences of HIV due to locals not using condoms. So the hot ones may be just as likely to be BGs just simply servicing a local clientele with the added bonus of HIV. 
An equally lame attempt could be made to argue that the better choices are the ones that only service Falangs...and thus are in the bars in Pattaya etc during high season. Better English, more experience with Falangs and possibly lower incidence of HIV.
As far as getting one who is more ethical or has better character who knows....its a roll of the dice no matter where they are from.

I acknowledge that I am not a good letter. Probably dozed off during lessons at school, oh well such is life.
Your comments about village life is probably right, local men not using condoms etc, what a shame. I suppose some girls would say, 'if its not on, its not on'. On the other hand money comes into the equation and that would be the motivation for some girls to say, 'okay', lets go for it. A real pity, someones life ruined for the piece of small rubber.
I had travelled to an area west of Buri ram with a TG in Jan this year. Cannot remember the town name, but was about 40 kls west of Buri ram city.
Had to watch myself with the TG, but over the few days I was there I glassed over the local girls and some very good looking ones were there in the shops working behind the counters. Next time I will not have a TG on my arm.
May have to put some hard work into gaining some sort of acceptance with them, but it would be worth it. In short, I have seen some real nice, friendly, attractive TG out of the cities of BKK, Pattaya, Chang Mai/Rai, and if you happen to hook up with one of these ladies, you would have to be on a winner. I suppose it does not really matter where you meet the lady, as long as there is a bit of understanding, truth and open dialogue.
