In the past, I've found students by accident. Usually, the results were good. They are young, attractive, have good personalities, are good conversationalists and usually speak good English. Are there any good watering holes in Bangkok where a lot of female students hang out looking for farangs?

Try the usual hangouts at the malls. MBK and former WTC are very known. Maybe you should go to the campus and wait til you find someone you fancy. Then try to play the dumb tourist: "Excuse me, is that the Grand Palace?" or something like that. Maybe she will hook on.
Internet cafes are although an opportunity to pick a nice girl up. And sometimes some soapie have students, who make a little extra cash.

The ones that do - are not students in the true sense of the word ! - It is actually a TG 'slang' to say 'student', when they really mean P4P - although some do go to Rhamkamheng etc for a few hours 1 or 2 days a week. The Glass House out that way is a good spot, [ if its still going] good food and show, packed with wealthier students most nights, but again, they are not obviously after a farang - remember they have friends looking on, and dont want to be-little themselves. As to hoe easily a real genuine student is to pick up - I know of a 30 odd, good looking farang tutor, who works at Rhamkamheng Uni, 6000 odd students, he has been there a couple of years and struggles to have any success amongst the students - Mind you, at the end of the day, no harm done picking up one who says she is a student, even if she really isnt [ at least she wont have to go off to school at 8am ]

Private has hit the nail on the head. I have a friend who teaches at ABAC on Ramkhamhaeng. The students are young, well off Thais who are not into P4P. They are teenagers looking for boys of their own age.
There are a lot of "copy" students. Girls in a white shirt and black skirt. Never see a laptop, text book or pencil case with them. Dinky handbag is all. Now they are up for grabs sometimes.
Internet cafes are also clearing houses for these girls.

Always good to have the realism of TPE around. Keeps the fantasies of setting up a personal harem at the hotel opposite the entrance to the university to a minimum.

Finally! The truth is told. I'd say any farang northof 30 can either get real or get set for a long, chill reality check coming his way- as TPE's friend is mid-stream in.

I think my last 2 adventures with thai students finished when I was 29 !!both 9 or 10 y younger, one -which I'll take back anyday-from ABAC and another one, wealthier but much dodgier from Thammasat. I'm 32 now and morally wrecked after Skip's post

Sorry but it just is not true to say that students and/or younger thai woman are not interested in farang men above 30. Nor does it follow that anyone who is interested is necessarily looking for P4P. I have met many such women. Some have become friends. Some have been gfs. Some have slept with me. Some have not. I am not an adonis but I treat them all witrh respect and I don't try to have sex with them after 3 hours! If u treat them as people u will find that Thai women are genuinely less worried about age than is the case with their farang counterparts. Does this mean every thai gorl wants an old fart? No? Does it mean that looks, manners and so don't count? No. Do they expect you to pay for dinner and so on? Yes. Are some looking for P4P? Yes. But it's a gross generalization to say that any younger woman going with an older farang is on the game. Now as with many things in Thailand the lines are a little blurred sometimes, but that's Thailand.

It does happen ; I was mid 40's and going with a TG who was from a middle class family - and been sent to Bkk to attend a school at Victory Monument, but suffice to say, the TG liked a good time more than studying, and we had to keep it quiet from the family, who when they eventually found out, had her recalled to Ratchaburi ASAP - I also have had to investigate some genuine Uni Students with Farang boyfriends, in most cases, the BF was one of many, and it was either a fun thing, or a $$ thing - but whenever the TG was from a higher class family, and a Genuine student, the parents made sure Mr. farang was not on the scene for long -
I was amazed at the lack of success of my Uni Tutor friend - he certainly didnt lack for smiles / attention / flirting etc.. but anything serious with a good sort just didnt happen for him -
As for realism - well, as all who know me can testify,
1/ I tell it as it is -
2/ I'm very cynical
3/ I dont suffer fools -
Hence I figure I was able to survive a decade in LOS, -
for updated realisim, listen to packripper - never got round to catching up with him, [ on the 2do list!] - but his observations on the site over the years re TGs, have been spot on, and Im sure very beneficial to all those who take note -

I agree that most students would not want to take up with an older farang for a long-term relationship. Some of them, though, might like to make some extra money with a short-term fling with a somewhat older farang who's reasonably good-looking, in good shape, is interesting and polite, stays in a nice hotel and will take her out to a good restaurant for dinner. These are the ones I have met in the past and with whom I've had a great time. Rather than leaving things to chance as in the past, I wonder if there is a place where I could go to meet this type of person. (They don't even have to be "real" students. I'll settle for one who looks like a student, is intelligent, attractive and can carry on an interesting conversation in English.
