Hi
A friend of mine wants to send his TG to go study, she wants to do makeup or hairdressing.
She initialy told him that it would cost her 3K a month but when she has rung arround has been quoted 15K a month. Even she is saying that thats 2 much Baht 
The only other thing she has found is a hairdressing place were its free and you just have to buy your own tools etc, buts thats a year course and 2 long for her, she really just wants to do makeup.
Anyone any ideas or places and prices........?

Well I guess there is many diffrent kind of schools. Like massage you can work and train at the same time. If he calls around I think its very difficult to find "thai way price". She can find something cheaper for sure. Just ask for the adress and phone number.

These girls are so bloody unimaginative. Ask them what they want to do other than hooking and it's always hairdressing, make up or open a salon. One I know said that she thought she could earn big baht going to soi 33 bars and doing the faces of all her friends.
Wouldn't it be nice - just once - to hear something different come out of their mouths?

Depends hown serious she is - some good schools in Siam Square, these are 5 days a week, and 9 till 4 most days, they are however ecognized, so a diploma from them means something - you can learn the basic cheaply, 2-3000 bt, but you wouldnt get a job in a decent salon with that type of learning. SIAMGURU site used to list plenty of places - but 1 lesson, go yourself, and pay up the fee, also on the quiet, get a number, so you can call and get progress AND attaendance reports !

They could follow their Western sisters and take up interior decorating after skimming through a couple of home magazines and discussing it with their girlfriends over a cafe latte.

My Thai wife wants both a salon and a bar again (the bar is for me ). Like ISEE says this is the only game in town for unskilled labor, the creme de la creme.
has a lot to do with showing off, sort of status symbol.Goes with the 2 baht gold neclaces and owning a house, is there anything else in life, well bugger me for implying otherwise. for the risk of starting world war three  I humor the women, yer yer yer bar great idea me boss bar, stop work, take care lady, why didn;t I think of it before.

Thanks for the couple of tips I will pass them on. I dont know why she want to do it either, as she does not want for money. My guess is that she wants it as an insurance policy incase my mate moves on to some one else so she does not have to go back and work bar I guess
