I have been doing a lot of reading in preparation for my trip and have noticed many common threads. ONe of the least-talked about (to my knowledge NOT talked about) is why the double standard? Thai BGs or FLs can ready attach themselves to different customers every night, but why do they then become "angry" and "insulting" to other BGs and FLs if they see them with the same Farang they were with? I don't understand.
I have read it is "ebarassing" for them to be seen with the same customer that was previously with someone else from their bar? Sup wit dat?
Also, why is it "okay" for them to work for a living (i.e. be with different men perhaps several times a night), but when we do it we are "butterflies" to be avoided?
I will keep reading and maybe find the answers. THanks. -Pat with 131 days 'till wheels up. (:

I think it's a status thing, you go with another BG then it looks like she doesn't have the skills to keep you happy, so she loses face. It’s not that she really care about the customer, what she cares about is her status with the other BGs.

I find this whole "face" thing ridiculous. She is not losing face; she is losing a source of income to another girl, hence the frustration. If I barfine a girl today and see her with a different punter tomorrow, don't I lose face? No! It's her bloody job to "butterfly". So it is my hobby to "butterfly" if I see so fit.

Agree with you there. We are the ones who dish out the money to the girls and dish it out to who we see fit. Is someone trying to say here that we should stick to one girl, how could you over here and the girls know we butterfly.
They are not stupid. Money is the god to them.

I think the status/face thing is also a factor, that ability to rope in a customer and keep him coming back not only brings them money but also status within the bar. None of them want to be the girl that can’t wrap the Falang around her little finger, and getting one to buy her expensive gifts and take her on trips is a point of pride.

I have seen girls get really upset when they see you with someone else, from the same bar or not. I think the above answers are all part of it. I think the girls also see their behavior as a job, they do what they have to. They see our behavior as a choice so that when we choose someone else it is personal. I also think money, expectation etc all play in to the situation. I have found more experienced, a little older BG's less worked up about this. They seem to understand how the game works and while they don't want to lose tonights deal they also don't want to burn bridges so you never deal with them again. I recall one from Midnite who I had only taken once and she went ballistic at 1am when she saw me on the street with someone else the next night. Needless to say I reminded her that she was not my old lady and I had made no promises and I have not visited her since. Too bad, because she was fun. Cave big enough to park my car in, but fun never the less. Off to make another chocolate shake.

The jealousy, shame thing took a new turn for me last tour.
I sometimes barfine my regular TBG cutie (who I take long time 4-6 days) and then park her somewhere while I take care of night time social obligations elsewhere. On occasion I have had to leave her in her bar (not my preference, a friends bar or her apartment feels much better)
When this happens she usually changes into civvies and sits dutifully in corner waiting for me, since her bar is usually quiet. I often will pop in when passing, and that's where I find her.
Last tour, I did this, left her in her bar with a small tab for drinks. Bar got crowded that night, which is unusual.
I turn up a couple of hours later and she doesn't spot me, because she's cuddling up to a customer in the corner, who has hold of two or three girls.
So I just order a drink & watch... felt kinda weird. A small amount of schoolboy jealousy started to rise, but I dismissed that with the thought " I kinda like young xxxx down the road, I think I might try". Anyway, I said to a friend "how long to you think until she notices, and what will be her excuse"....they have amazing skewed logic, but we all know that.
So, when she spots me, she detaches herself from customer, and proceeds to hide between two of her friends, face to the wall. I order another drink. Then she comes over tears streaming from her eyes, "I solly, I solly". Then I get the "I never go with other customer....he friend" BS. I say you can go with whoever you want, but not when I pay barfine, drink tab & you are paid for long time. I tell her I will take that barfine & drink tab off her bonus'........always last day I give agreed amount from left hand, and bonus from right, if she has been good.
Tears still streaming she turns to my friend and tells him she "have to do, have to do, owner in bar, and I have to, but not go with man, wait for LiamOZ" then "my fran say LiamOZ have other lady, I get dlunk, I solly, I solly, but I wait for him".
I realise in hindsight that it was really stupid to expect her not to work the bar in that situation. It is her job, and Money No.1, which I must remember.
Anyway, she comes home with me and we have have what I now term "make up (read make up the baht) sex" - three very nice sessions.
The point of telling this is that for rest of my tour, she is checking where I am, so I don't butterfly on her. She asks about certaim girls in other bars, old regulars etc. She even made a point of coming back to the apartment on the last day, after we had said goodbye (and she had long gone) while I am packing, and then at the door saying "I go if you have other lady here, it's ok", then wandering in and casually checking out the bedrooms and bathrooms WTF!.
I know this is all about baht, but it shows the incredible double standards that apply.
BTW on the flight home I read Money still Number One, which got my head right. I recommend it to any poor bastard who is getting too close to their TBG cutie.
BTW, she still has a gig with me, I'm just a little more pragmatic about it, & rules of engagement are now clear.

There is this "'understandng:""
Its a defence mental thing bar girls have.
They pretend the customer at least found her attractive /and /or nice as a person.
The hard act of prositution is not a difficult proposition when edicts are followed by customers.
They forinstance see ""failure"' and loose ""face"" when the Farang returns to her place of employ and takes another girl.
You must take "'her"" and another to avoid this.
The unwritten Law is to at very least let a week pass before sampling another girl if its same club/bar.
Or you have caused her to be questioned by her peers as a girl worth her salt.
