Thanx for all the responses fellas. To put my question in
an easier way. Why would an attractive girl dance when she could probably command the same $$ sitting on her ass or playing pool while chatting up clients in a barfine style bar like the Morning & Nite, where the girls do make $$ on any drinks bought for them ?(M&N located on Nana on the left just after you turn in from Sukhumvit, maybe 4 pool tables inside, Barfine Bht 500)
I'm looking for a Foreigners' point of view, not Thai.

As I mentioned in the other thread, my TGF is a former go-go dancer. In her bar, the go-go dancer was highest in the pecking order. The waitresses and staff were further down the chain, and were important to the owner 'cause they were the ones that brought customers into his bar. The dancers made several thousand Baht more per month base salary than anyone else, and they had a high rate of bf's 'cause they were the most visible (she was also one of the higher paid ladies based on her ability to attract customers via dancing). 2000 Baht more per month goes a long way in BKK when you live upstairs above the bar and pay the club a scant 35 Baht per month in rent. That is why she chose to dance. Even if she is "shy."
You can check out the payment demographics in the book, "Guns, Girls, Gambling, Ganja" by Pasuk Phongpaichit, et al, published by Silkworm Books. It gives tables of salaries versus "job title" that back up my TGF's experience.

Well, if the TG is pretty enough she will NOT play pool since they only get B/. 20 per game. I think she/they will be either sitting in an Oil MP/Soapy MP as a sideliner/model or hanging around the tables at a HI-SO Club....The real MONEY is in these last mentioned places....

In Phuket last week I paid a lot of drinks on several occassions to a waitress of one a go go bar. I just thought she was nice to talk to, very pretty and innocent. I did not even think about barfining her, as I imagine she might have refused. She claimed that her salary was Baht 4000 a month, for a drink her commission was Baht 20. In a go go bar of course the BGs who do showtime have the best salary.

i met this one girl in soi cowboy that was a hottie. don't know where she is now. haven't seen her in the past two trips. but she made good money/salary just dancing at Long Gun. and was very picky with who she would go with for a S/T or L/T. most times she would not go with a customer. so i guess i was lucky.

I think a pretty girl who is willing to flirt a lot should be able to make a very good salary just from playing pool, having drinks bought for her and taking tips/wagers. I know she would get plenty of my money.

I agree with you. The females that can make it as a sideliner/model or hanging around the tables at a HI-SO Club are the ones that probably make the most by wages/service, as well as getting sponsored.
I would also like to add that the highest class freelancers, who look like the movie stars, I've heard command the largest fee's. A manager friend that works at Pegasus says that some of the models you see in the magazines can be "had" for 40,000 baht or more. He did not say if that was st or lt.
