I'm amazed by how many broken relationshps there are between farang and TGs (especially when TGs mve outside their country). I know of only a handful of one on one relaionships that are still going and most of those are farang guys stressed abut their TG.
Over the last year I've managed to date 12 TGs in the US (3 to 4 at a time and 2 were best friends) with little or no headaches. All of the TGs gave me the same openess, respect and feeling as if I were in LOS. This is a definate change from a year ago when my TGF burned my clothes and nearly my house down.
I obtained most of this knowledge through my manager in Chiang Mai and some from this forum. From time to time, I still text her what to do but I think I've got a down. I hope others can add something, and heres what I have learned.
Sucessful tips.
1. When you meet a TG dont ask them anything personal, especially if they have a boyfriend. Later on they will ask you about personal stuff, but wait for about a month before asking them anything.
2. Never ask for their phone number. You can give them yours, if you dont know where she works or wont see her at a consistent meeeting place.
3. The most important, only see her once a week before you have sex with her. If she wants to see you more then she will let you know. Good TGs like to watch the guy and take time until forming any type of relationship.
4. After you have sex with her, only see her once a week. TGs keep telling me the same thing over and over again about farangs in the US. "I like the guy before, but he call me all the time and buy me things to see me more. I used to like him, but now make me headache. I dont answer his phone." TGs appreciate a man with self control and confidence, and they are independant women. They also dont like bothering the guy too much and they want the same respect back to them.
5. Dont call unless you want to see her once a week. You can send an SMS telling her your climbing a mountain with your friends or ask her how her diet's going, but thats it.
6. Dont make long dates in the beginning. Two hours of drinking and take her back to your place is enough. When in public place they are not comfortable with, be extremely conservative and dont argue or complain about issues. Compliment her on one physical thing that you think she is worried about. Tell her that you like what she looks like on the outside but you dont know whats on the inside." Smile alot and try to make her laugh, but only show her 70% of yourself. Pay for dinner, but thats it. No sposorship or helping the out with finances.
7. Keep your residence very clean, and stocked with Johnnie Walker. Offer her if she would like to take a shower befroe sex.
8. Be the same confident guy with her everytime. Dont make any drama or issues. She knows your out fooling around, but she doesnt want to hear or see it. TGs say that "Farangs heart is not the same as a Thais. They say something and do somthingelse." Stay consistant and dont give her too much to think about.
9. Dont get angry with her.
10. Be a gentlemen and professional, but not too nice.
11. Lastly, think of yourself as the prize. Thats the only way she will show any respect to you.

I would agree with these points, and it especially holds true for dating in CM
it's much easier in BKK
I got away with asking about BFs right away in BKK, but it does not fly here in CM
CM gals are much more traditional and like to take it slow
but the slow approach would work with most TGs
it's the ones that insist on meeting more than once a week or every night that I enjoy the most, 555
dating only one per week sure does open you up for seeing more than one lady.
I'm not in complete agreement on the phone number exhange bit, although I am inclined to give my number to them more often in CM than to ask for theirs
some insist on punching it into your phone for you, if you're in a noisy club or something like that
but you might get the "Mai Saduak" answer if you are asking for their number, meaning that she doesn't want you calling her, either a boyfriend/husband at home or whatever
networking is really good too, if a gal doesn't really click with you, maybe she has a hot friend that would, and she can recommend you as nice guy
and BTW, you really need a spell checker, 555

BK is the last true romantic.
The advice in the original post works equally well back in your home country with the local chics. Back in the day when I was dating, I basically followed something very similar and it worked well.
