Not sure if this has been covered nor would I know where to look. However, on the way back from the airport last night at around 1.30am we drove past what looked like dozens of freelancers flagging down cars along Nikhom Makkasan Rd. Most looked very shaggable. I was a bit bleary-eyed after the flight so was not 100% sure of what I saw. Anybody know anything about this?

What you saw is 100% true, and yes, they are all shaggable.
looks all 8s and 9s (and perhaps a few 5s or 6s getting a bit of complex surrounded by all those beauties.) and everytime the men in brown are about to pass, all these girls dissappear behind the concrete slabs lying along the railway track right next to the street, only to come back after a few minutes.
mostly s/t and 2/3k range, but very few can speak english, and few have been with foreigners, but you may find one with adventurous spirit.

I'll have to start looking for somewhere else equally unknown.

Yes, we have a rather fixed idea from the West about ladies who walk the streets or in this case the roads.
These ladies are not freelancers in the strictest sense of being regularly on the game.
They are mainly made up of working women in ordinary jobs who wouldn't want to be seen in a bar, or a tourist centre of entertainment, any of the well-known sois or even in the company of a man, Thai or Falang.
They are looking for business where they step into the car, go to the hotel and afterwards step back into a taxi to go back home. Most have family responsibilities and/or are too shy to venture out like an ordinary freelancer.
Yes, the beans have been spilt.
What a shame.

Any guy would be an idiot not to be, in a place like that.
Who wants the Sukhumvit crowds to overun the area and spoil things. ?
The road is open 24 hours, but by dawn the girls are gone.
But seriously, most of the girls will go with a falang.
Some will not.
Few will definitely not.
At first, years ago, I didn't know the difference and so, after great difficulty, managed to pull, not one but three into the taxi with me.
It was rather like a tug-of-war and I won, I think, although it cost...but not as much as the touristy areas....but then, if you have a falang face......you have a falang wallet.........be warned, I wasn't and look where I am now.

These girls are possibly the ones that cannot find standing room in the back street behind Siam Hotel Coffee Shop on New Petchaburi Rd.
It was just around the corner from where I lived and have used the services of these girls on many occassions.
Just be very cautious if you are walking down that street. A lot of those cars and bikes do not belong to potential customers, but belong to their boyfriends /husbands or maybe even pimps of some of those girls. And some of those girls do not work in shops, factories or offices, they work the streets like they do in Sukhumvit. Just an overun of girls from the coffee shop.

Well observed, Barra. It's a total different scene than we're used at Nana or Cowboy.
This scene is controlled by men. Sometimes they operate out of the back of a police truck.
Few stunners can be found here (ladyboys too). But it seems the prices are just too high.... round 2 or 3k for short time.
Also inside the Siam Hotel, the scene is not meant for westerners... lot of Japanese and Thais. But it seems the Thais only hang out and watch without sampling the dishes...

Actually my driver picked me up at the airport and he knows all of the short cuts so that is why we went via that route. When we go that way daytime there are no hookers obviously. At first I thought a nightclub had opened up along the soi while I was away with al the fluff on the roadside then I noticed the girls were walking out to greet the cars as they pulled up and leaned out waving when we drove by. They all looked lovely to me. Maybe cos I had spent 3 weeks in Australia looking at f***ing ugly locals that were as wide as they were tall.

These girls used to hang around Petburi and Siam Hotel. The authority cracked down and shifted them to the backside. These girls are really business ladies. Very short ST and mostly very firm on pricing 1500 for less than an hour, and will only go to Siam Hotel. Most of them do not do bbbj or any bj at all. They will hurry you to come in 20 min or so and then return to the street for next victim.
Very Thai scene, not very foreign friendly.
