Where would someone who is not really into the whole"dance club" scene go to find the quality of freelancers as in CM2, my travelling partner has not drank in 13 years and is not into the bar scene too much, is there anywhere for him to go?

I think I said before on another string that I've seen quite a few CM2 girls in Hard Rock Cafe before they've moved onto CM2 later in the evening. Quality was not great in HRC but if he prefers rock or chart music to dance that might be better for him. He can also eat there if he doesn't want to hang around in the bar area, but thats where the chooch hangs out.

yes, i can confirm also that a high percentage of FL girls in the Hard Rock later go to CM2. I never found quality to be very good in the Hard Rock, though. The band can be good sometimes, and I do go there fairly often because my girlfriend likes going there...
The guy who hasn't drank for 13 years (how old is he?) might like Spasso better (I don't, but it might suit him better) since it probably attracts an older crowd.

You should take your friend to the bars anyway. FL bars in Thailand are very, very different than in farangland so it is quite possible that the things he doesn't like about them are not there.
I'm not into the pick-up bar type scene or dance clubs in America; I don't like having to hustle after women, the forced inane conversations, pretending to like dancing with them, and all the other BS.
In Bkk, your friend can go into a disco or FL bar, get a soft drink, kick back and enjoy watching the girls dancing, beckon a few to come over to him and avoid most of the social BS. They'll probably still have loud music and crowds, but I don't mind that as much in Bkk since I don't try to force a conversation with the girls.

I found Spasso a bit more upmarket and cocktaily, with girls to match. There were some very nice looking girls in there but not cheap compared to CM2 for example.
I found the general clientele a bit older and more snobby than say CM2 and I imagine the girls are looking for big spenders. I spoke to one girl who was okay looking and she wanted 4000 for ST, 6000 for LT. A bit pricey unless you really click.
