I've become friends with several different girls around town (Beer Bar, GoGo, and GMen Clubs). And all of them have told me that they and their friends are extremely scared about the coming month and have never seen it like this before. None of them have any money and are not sure how they will be able to cover bills. The bars have been closed so much this month and have no customers they aren't making their quotas for drinks or Bar fines and will probably not even make full salary.
With that said, I have to believe there are some good bargains out there, but maybe only with people you have a "friendship" with from before. Two girls I know well, told me if I helped them out with rent ($4k for one and $5k for the other), they would do me for free any and as often as I wanted for the next month.
They are business women, and I think they see that its pretty bad right now. Maybe its an opportunity to work up a side deal with one of your regulars.

I m very surprised that anyone would try to get a bargain from so called "regulars", to me if the girls are "regulars" it mean we know each other (i know how nice they are, they know how much I pay and what to expect in bed), so trying to get them to lower their price because they need the money would be the best way to...loose the girl. Better IMHO to try to get them to do some new things, like invite some of her friends for threesome/foursome "to help your friends make money" 
Maybe if a girl I know since a few trips say she has NO customers since X days in her place and make no money I would sugest she come along with me for a week trip and offer a (slightly lower than usual) price for the whole time, telling her that this way she can have hollidays and still make money...
And also would defenetely laught at an unknown girls who demand crazzy hight price in an empty bar in an empty city...
BTW :In Thermae last trip I got offers for ST at 1K and 1.5K, when in the past most girls would try to ask for 2K...

... in the last two weeks, I received unsolicited 'come hither' calls from three former hides I used to bag, one to whom I've not talked in 1-1/2 years... these hides never called me... ever.
... my guess is that the recreational sport-f***ing scene is upon unprecedented hard times.
... historically, tourists have the memory of a goldfish... Thailand gets hit about every 1-1/2 years with something (SARS, tsunami, bird flu, H1N1, coup, etc.), and they return within maybe 6-months.
... my guess is that sex tourists are maybe more resilient than the average tourist... still, combined with the global economic crisis, this might be materially different.
... if the sex tourists do not return as quickly as before, a correction in the basic business calculus could be developing... bars closing... gurls getting out and going home... prices responding to lower demand... more freelancers... increased Internet marketing... maybe more creative deal-making as TriniE describes above.
... wonder if there are any industry-in-crisis analogues that might fit Thailand's sex industry?

Nothing wrong with taking someone up on an offer they make you (they just rent out the space in their pussies, not actually sell it)...
I've gotten 3 calls/texts this week with a "let's please meet up" message....
I have definitely had great success lately explaining to Bgs the value of "something" vs "nothing" during prices conversations, when they come up.
