It seems like taking the girl out shopping is a common way to spend some time with the girls outside the bedroom area.
You guys that have done this, how much do these girls expect you to spend on them (a BG, not a TGF)?
Is it expected as a bonus or as a reward for later favors from the girl?

im a newbie, so i dont know what their expectations are, but i usually spend no more than 3,000baht on them, and i dont penalize their daily/weekly fee for it.... it's kind of their tip... ive been taking mine ot Emporium, but am told i'd get a better deal if i took them to robinsons.... shrug... i like emporium though.... but that's just me... havent been to chidlom yet...

There is no more consistently expensive place to shop in BKK, that I can think of, than Emporium.
I doubt there's an answer to your question TG. I don't think they would have any specific expectation and of course it would depend on the individual girl whether she was pleased with the amount you spent; Some really sweet girls will be delighted (belive it or not) that you would buy anything at all (500 bht pair of shoes etc) others would turn thier nose up at anything less than 5000Bht gold chain.
Like most things here it all depends on how you treat the girl, attitude of the girl and a bit of luck in your selection of girls. Do what you feel good about and leave it at that.

I also do exactly what kmanrox does. Spend about 3 to 4,000 Baht on the shopping trip and also do not penalize their daily/weekly fee for it. I consider it a gift for the female. I will say that I do not do this with every female and are very selective. I also do not count the occassional walking on the street and the female wants something that is 100 baht. Those are just throw in items .... in my mind.
Where I differ with Kmanrox a slight bit is that I shop with them at Lotus, MBK, Discovery Center, Emporium, Robinsons, or whereever!! ha ha ha ha ha!!
BUT ..... I've never bought something for any female that I did not want to buy. Meaning that she has not played a guilt trip on me so I cave in and buy something I don't want to buy.
And .... one last point. Interesting that some of the females will ask if it's cool to buy toys or something for their kid, or even food or personal items for their family like toilet paper, ect. I'll all for that. So ... some females don't always just buy cloths or not superficial things.

ABC makes an excellent point that I was too lazy to type (shame on me!): I think it's important not to give in to any blackmail. My policy is generally: The less demanding the girl the more deserving she is. I think you do everyone a diservice (the girl, yourself and future falangs in her life ) when you reward manipulative behavior.
And ABC is right that if you really want to make your expenditure worthwhile, many girls would be delighted to stock up on practical items. I've taken girls to foodland and let them fill a cart with TP, detergent, instant soup etc. A lot of them live pretty basicly at home and they often don't have enough of these household things.

Usually I do never take TGs along for big time shopping. On my recent trip though I took Mrs Bandit in Phuket to Ocean in Patong to buy her a new bikini. I did not think her old one was sexy...! As she has small boobs I had to buy one of these wonderbra alikes. It costed me just around Baht 1300, but was really worth the investment!

2-4K is a reasonable amount of money to be spent with the TG of your choice during a shopping session. Of course, the cost of the daily bf is not included and might be adviseable to be considered apart of the "shopping damage"
....places to go? Almost every shopping mall will give you a nice time if you are with the correct person. Seems to be strange but the bargirls I were with mainly prefered MBK or Ekkamai. However, the times I got TGs from Clubs and MPs they prefer WTC and Siam Discovery....

- experience of myself, and my Pals thru LOS regularly, is generally to be more inclined to take the TG shopping, if she hasnt asked for any money, - in this case our choice is normally MBK [ Marboonkrong] - maybe for a movie/feed, and then give her 1-2,000 baht to buy some jeans/clothing or whatever, an important point, stay well CLEAR of any gold shops !!! This stop, if entirely warranted on performance/keeness/loyalty, may PERHAPS be made at a later date, where 2000 bt can get you some nice earings, or small ring - anything more, e.g. the 1 or 2 baht bracelet/necklace is going to cost you 6000 bt per baht[weight] - and in that case goes in my book, into the category of "Mun" or an engagement gift !

I looked at a few of those 24k gold bracelets at the ground floor of MBK. The designs were very nice. They are sold by the weight (grams) of the bracelet. The cheapest one I looked at was 13,500 baht (if I remember correctly). Don't worry, I did not buy any.
