Does anyone know of any really upmarket establishments in Bangkok, costing much more than the regular bars, MPs and clubs that we talk about here?
I'm talking of very elegant looking girls at Bht 15-20K a night, as compared to the 2-5K range that is commonly the norm.

The classifieds are a scam. They send the cheapest floozies, that they think they can get away with. You're much better off going to ANY bar or MP and you'll get better girls at a lower price.
The girls in bars and MP's are from a very different background. Even in Soi-33, where I do go often, they are not much better than elsewhere. What I am talking of is tall (5'8" or more), svelte, white/brown skin (doesn't matter) but smooth complexion and good sex.
I mean come on, everyone knows what you mean by an "upmarket brothel"?

Simon, there are or were very famous -- I wouldn't call them 'brothels' but maisons d'assignation, most famous of which was/is operated by Jintana Bunnag, aka 'Oy BM', Thailand's most influential madam to the Thai elite and owner of 'Sala Daeng' (Red Pavillion) which may or may not have been on Soi Saladaeng.
However what you must appreciate about the upper crust of Thai coutesanship is that the more you pay the less you get. Elite Thais vie with each other to buy out actresses, TV starlets, beauty contest runners-up etc for 20,000-50,000 a night or more, not because they want good sex, but because they want to be known to possess a special prize, and brag about this to their friends. If the prize also happens to be a good sex partner, that's a bonus, but often the Thai elite guys spend the evening drinking with their buddies and the 'prizes' and don't retire till the wee hours, by which time sleep is more urgent than sex.
When I have been a guest of such people in this circumstances, the girl I am provided with often EXPECTS me to drink till I pass out (like the Thais) and is a bit out out when I am not comatose and I want to actually HAVE sex rather than just appearing too.
I contrast this with your basic BG from a farang gogo bar, who more often than not will give her money's worth or more.
Indeed they actually seem to ENJOY sex, in sharp contrast to their upper class courtesan sisters.
Soi 33 mostly is just BGs in different wrappers and this is also usually true of the 'elite' member clubs and the 'elite' MPs where no farang are allowed or if allowed, are subject to two-tier pricing (mostly Asoke/Rachadapisek and Rama 9 Rds.
REST ASSURED that no farang is going to be allowed in the Sala Daeng (if it is still in business) or its equivalents, that cater to the Thai politicians, business elite, etc. We can't get into Juliana, which is just a MP, so,
BROTHELS by definition are dirty sleazy places where indentured prostitutes (or slaves) service low class laborers for cleap money (c.150 baht) per 20-30 minutes 12 hours a day or more.
Farang are equally not welcome.
So the notion of an 'elite brothel' is AFAIK a non starter in LOS.
If we disagree about definitions, then maybe consider the member clubs where you can go get a blowjob or a f_ck in a VIP room. But again, as the places go upscale, and the girls are more to the Thai (really Lanna Thai) ideal, the less likely is a white guy to be welcome.

taken the trouble to read this forum will gathered
that even with a budget of THB20,000 there is

For such amount of money you would like to spend I may suggest you give a try to PEGASUS. I won't get into a definition of a brothel cos was discussed extensively before.
