Certainly, just only a bit of the total Thai population is involved in sex trade. Thus, I think it is better to be careful the times we use the term "Thai ladies"....Anyway, since you referred to the normal bar scene in your post (I hope), I agree with you.

Even though I'm sure that most people would know what RL meant I think Pinga makes a good point; because many of us have primarily contact with "working ladies" it's easy to start thinking of "Thai ladies" as a an equivalent and it's neither accurate or fair.

Being the naive f**k that I am, I had been going to The LOS for a number of years before I ever knew about "the" business in Nana, Patong, Pattaya, Phuket, etc.. The same can be said for the PI when I had a business going there for a number of years. Most of the women I met and interacted with were definitely NOT in the "game".
Although there is obviously games that can be played, not everyone in Thailand is in on it.
Although I'll probably need to wipe the brownness off my nose, that is one of the things that appeals to me so much about this board, there are so many members that see a real country and its history, that also just so happen to have also realized the fun that can be had in it as well. But, also know and understand that not all the country, or even a small percentage of the people in it, is/are a playland.
I have no problems with people who enjoy the Sanuk for play, or even those who are able to enjoy for free sanuk from those whom normally exact a going wage from it but what I do "object" to are people who try to paint the entire country with the same brush.
Actually, it is not really an objection, but more so a hope that those who do not initially see it will eventually see Thailand, and its people, as deserving respect.
Although having spent the first 15 years of my life in the US, most of the women I still know and am friends with in the US are "working girls", to a lesser extent the same can be said about where I live now, Japan. But, does that speak more towards the respective countries or towards myself and the places I choose to frequent and the people I choose to spend my time with?
There are two, and usually more sides to everything. One may be a punter and the woman one happens to be looking at at the momnet may be a working girl but that is not to say that all the other women one may see are working girls nor that all the other men one may see are punters.
Look at it another way, what is the highest "payment" or gift that one can give another. Could that be respect? Although I haven't had the opportunity to test it in Thailand, everywhere else I've been, in both the East and the West, the best way to get "it" for free was to pay respect.
Please, flame me or disagree with me as this is too cool a discussion to let die. How about if I start it off with saying you are ALL wrong!? But then again, so might I be. ;)

Sorry brother Boom, I can't see any reason why there would be any need to flame you for your last post. Everyone deserves to be given even basic respect and should continue to receive it until they have abused it. I also agree with Jedi's Mr. Joe and Pinga that it's very easy to confuse the term Thai ladies with Working ladies, but in my case I prefer to use the term Thai ladies as opposed to BG or GGG or MPG because it's just my way of affording them an extra bit of respect. However if you check any of my past post you'll notice that I always make the term specific, as in Thai lady that works in a bar, or Thai lady that works in a massage parlor or Thai lady that freelances. I know the abbreviations are quicker but this is just my way and I like to think they're worth the extra typing on my part. Peace

well summed up B'rang, - as Ive mentioned many times, from my enquiries, the higer up the scale the Thai woman is, it seems the higher she rates herself, and more often than not, the more she expects from the would be farang suitor ! By and large most so called "respectable' Thai women, wastew no time asking for the Car, Condo, Business from the smitten farang, whereas the bar girl will be happy with her 1000bt ST. !

It's not BIG (?) and it's not clever? No it's not. It's easy.
There is a list of terms for this website that I saw before I ever joined. It makes sense to me that we can use thenm as an abbreviation, just as we can other commonly accepted internet terms (IMHO etc). What's the problem with it?
I plan on continuing to use BG, TG and the like. Sorry.
