Hi all,
First posting here, so apologies if I break any social graces !
I'm a 27yr old guy from the UK who had his first visit to LOS in October 2003 - 4 days in Bangkok & 8 days in Pattaya... Ý
So after about 20 hours of travelling I arrived in BKK, looking to sleep, but my travelling companion (friend from Uni) was having none of it ! Ý- Ýso the plan was to go out for some food, and maybe pull if the opportunity arose...
We ended up in a nice enough simple restaurant to get some soup - ahhh.. ok, so Tom Yam Mushroom is a bit hotter in this neck of the woods eh Ý Ý
`I like spicy` quickly turns into `can I have it just a little spicy` Ý;-)
I love to play pool and i'm pretty reasonable at it, so I wanted to drop into a pool bar that i'd seen when we were walking around looking for a place to eat - we went in on the way back and I was shocked and surprised to find that the girls can actually *play* in this country ! Ý(as opposed to most members of the fairer sex showing the co-ordination of a drunk seal as they do in Essex whenever they pick up a pool cue)
Ended up playing pool with Jam, 25yr old cutie, the best female player in the place, who had a smart cheeky style as well as speaking pretty good English (yeah yeah, I know you're going to comment that she learnt it on her back) Ý
She was just hanging out and enjoyed playing pool with her friends at the club (and maybe hustling them and the farang patrons a little when the opportunity came up!)
I found out that she'd had a baby 3 months previously to a farang guy (from Belgium) who was a regular visitor to Thailand on business - he mysteriously reduced his visits when he found out that she was pregnant !
We played for a couple of hours, and I bought a few drinks as we went along - ended up winning 12-7 which she was a bit pissed off about as she usually wipes the floor with most challengers ! Ý
So anyway... she offered to take myself and my friend to the ancient city the following day, which we agreed to.
Next morning she turned up more or less on time, and with a friend in tow (a freelancer bar girl that had been angling to get taken by my friend) - we spent the morning/afternoon going to round the ancient city, then the croc farm etc on the way back - hired a taxi for the whole trip which cost a little over a thousand baht (bargain I thought)
We went out for dinner as a foursome, and then back to the hotel - my friend had decided this girl was `worth a squirt` so had negotiated for her to stay (he overpaid her for what he thought was a ST deal at 2000 Baht)
I gave Jam the same `for the baby` as although she had made it clear that we werent doing the whole negotiable favor thing, I didnt want to make my friend feel uncomfortable, or her like I was taking advantage !
Anyway... to cut what is becoming a long story short, we got on brilliantly, spent the next 2 days together, went out for massages, cinema, food, shopping etc..
I was paying for most things, but she was contributing a little here & there without being asked, so it really did feel like a holiday romance rather than any implication of being used as a spare wallet...
We had such a great time that I invited her to join me on the 2nd leg of the holiday in Pattaya, which all in all went really well - she was able to be my guide, translator & lover all at the same time.
So my question for the group (yes, I finally got there) is "Did I do the right thing" Ý? Ý - It felt special, and we're still in touch (with an open offer to return) - or in the opinion of those more experienced did I miss out by not doing the butterfly thing Ý? Ý (by more experienced I do mean those who actually appreciate a `girlfriend` and not just those who are looking to mark up a few notches on the headboard !)
All thoughts greatfully invited.

Hi Papercut,
welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing. Personally I do not have such experience as I do not like slightly 'longer term' relationship, I prefer stuffs like massage joints whereby its just go there do your business and go off. Hope that other brothers can give you some different views.

It sounds like you had a great time and enjoyed it....therefore you did the right thing for yourself.......I've never been interested in MP's....but everyone has different ideas......as long as you had a good experience, thats all that matters

Hey Papercut: Ask yourself this and look at it this way, "did you have a good time"? If you did, then you did the right thing and the rest doesn't matter. If you only think about what you don't have (or what you could have), you will never truly enjoy yourself. I used to be like that until one day I realized happiness was right next to me the whole time (one night with the girl I am currently infatuated with is better than 2 days with 6 girls). I think some brothers were correct in comparing a similar situation to the dog with a bone (no pun intended) looking at his reflection and wanting that instead. Always be happy with what you have and try to enjoy it while you are at it.

Now ... what am I going to be able to contribute to this thread??? hummm...??
Okay. It's not much, but just my take on your post.
From reading your post and what you were looking for, sounds to me like you had a great time. And you did say you were not looking to add notches to your headboard, so .... in my opinion, I don't think you were missing anything by not being a butterfly.
You spent sometime with a female who you enjoyed her company and she enjoyed yours. I am sure many members will be envious of what you had, because some are still searching for that type of relationship .. so to speak.

Ditto to what TD said. It's really whatever makes you happy, and you seem to have had a great time, got a slight insider view, etc.
Here comes the obligatory warning: don't fall in love with the first TG you sleep with. It's okay of course, and happens, to break this rule. But she is at least semi-pro, so just be careful in how you proceed. And make sure you read some of the recent threads around here.

There's no doubt you missed out on a lot by sticking with this one girl the entire time. On the other hand, you had a relatively unique experience that you enjoyed.
I'd say if you get married next year to shrewish farang woman, you may regret that you didn't get a chance to experience all the different things you've heard about nightlife in Thailand.
If you never come back to experience the rest, that will be the mistake. Or if you foolishly make too much out of the relationship with your girl and spoil the pleasant memories.

You got a nice time according to your post so, you did the right thing. That is the thing that does matter.
A happy TG and a happy farang man hanging around LOS for several days having a nice time together is something special. Keep the good memories. That was an excellent experience. Welcome on board!!

hello all
I say to each his own. Me personally I rather not have a girl with me hanging around all day. This being that I know I will see a sweet young thing I just have to f_ck and If I have another girl with me when I see her I have to let her go.But haveing a girl there to do things with during the day is a nice thing too It all depends on you.
