I have been going out with my thai girlfriend for 2 years, she has visited me on a fianc`ee visa for six months in England. We plan to marry in Thailand. She plans to live in England with me permenently. If we divorce in the future, what rights has she ( as i did hear that she would only be able to claim assets owned in thailand, because we married in thailand) ie, would she still be able to get half of my house, my pension etc in England?????

Dont want to be to negative, but statistics say "Not if" but "When you divorce".
There is a very high strike out rate as it is very difficult for most asian girls to live off shore(ie in England as you will want). You will have to live in Thailand

Thai marriages are recognised in the UK. If you are divorced in the UK then it is just like any other.
Ypu can ask here or you can pay a lawyer. If the lawyer does not know the answer he will feed a load of bullshit and charge you anyway.
The better alternative is to go here and make some friends who have been through it all.

bit new to this forum, but was only asking a little advise from people who might know all the shit that goes on!! Of course i will be trying to get advice from other sources.
As for moving to thailand, I think 100% it would end in divorce.......pissed up and in a go go bar..married or not...will never be able to say no!!
This leads to another question......what is the general reaction of a thai woman if her boyfriend is a "butterfly"? My girlfriend has said she would chop me bollocks off which is understandable, but many farangs say that there allowed?? whats the crack???
