On my last trip to LOS, I came in contact with few girls with weddings rings on. They tell me they are divorced or separated & no attempt to hide the ring.
Is this one of many thai FADS ?
Are they lying to me ?
In some funny way, are they proud ?
Is it insecurity ?
Is it " face " ?
Please, help me understand these beautiful but complicated creatures.

Men have been trying to figure out why women ( The world over ) do some of the things they do for centuries and we still don't have the slightest clue  . I personally gave up trying about 10 years ago. I hope you have better luck at it then I have had. Let us know what you come up with ( Other then headaches and ulcers  ). Peace

In about 15 years of chatting to girls from all levels in LOS, I have yet to hear one say " I am happily married to a great Guy " - 99.9% will answer the standard line " mai mee fairn" - dont have boyfriend - I have even got this from ones who are pregnant ! Think it is part of the TG way of always keeping her options open, and [ii] Telling the foreigner what she assumes he wants to hear- whether or not it is correct is immaterial. Mind you, wedding rings are not always the norm here, a gift of gold, bracelet/necklace is often given as an engagement or wedding gift.

I don't claim to be an expert on this subject but through my experience I ran across a couple of girls that had on wedding bands and there reply was similar to the girls in the states that wear rings and are not married. "so man not bother " or in other words for those guys respectful enough to not bother married girls, they feel with the ring they will get hassled less and can pick and choose what guys they want to talk to. And after talking to them for a bit the real story of the ring wil lcome out . I don't think it's a thai thing at all i see that more and more here in the states.

Yup, I've herd that in the states too.
If that's the case, one of us should tell them that their Mr. right might see their ring & never even approach them or start a conversation with them, thus, they didn't even have a chance 
I've also noticed lot of the gogo girls ( young ) were wearing them too, has anyone noticed ? That's one reason why I thought it was a FAD or just to be cute/different.
