I guess something taken for granted when been here so long, but as brother "Y" pointed out to me the other night, TPE was doing a double up, i.e. some checking on a BG, but also baby-sitting young ms Nat, my 1 yr old - so Im at soi cowboy at 10pm, surronded by TGs, who yes, may be hard core, working girls who want to two time as many farangs as they can, but the same girls could not do enough for me/baby - all wanted to cuddle her, buy her fruit, take care of her etc, AND, she was 100% safe with all of them - doubt many nightspot areas in the world the same attitudes would apply, - and just adds to the fact that yes, they [BGs] do have a heart, but like us, can get cynical at times ... anyway, just a pat on the back for the average BG, especially those in After school [cowboy] and Lemon [ asoke] bars !

Agghhh...t'was a sight to behold.
I have to say I'd leave my kids with anyone of these girls for a while, on that score they are totally reliable, and even Dad gets some special treatment.
I noticed that the bar in question had gone quiet, until I stepped outside to find all the girls doting on father and daughter. (mind you BK had left by that time)
I'm banned from taking my kids near bars, but when my first was 1 I sat at Lucky Lukes for a couple of hours one afternoon, and got all the attention. He was fed watered and thouroughly pampered by two girls. He loved it....the shape of things to come?

Crow's Nest Bar, Soi Bangla, Phuket.
Owned by this english guy married to Thai and they have the cutest little baby ever. Used to go there for my daily fix of pool and all night long there'd be a steady stream of girls popping in to play with the kid and spoil her to bits. TGs have a lot of heart and barring some, it's mostly in the right place. Buddha be praised.

There is nothing like a child to bring out the best in most men and women - but mostly women - regardless of which strata of society they come from .
BUT in all fairness I think that what you experienced at Nana is not true of p4p girls ONLY in Thailand .
I have never been for p4p in any other country so I do not have first hand information . However from some movies that I have seen ( and I do believe that movies depict at least to some extent the social behaviour of that country ) it appears to me that this sort of loving and protective behaviour towards children is common to p4p girls everywhere even in the hard-hearted p4p girls of the U.S. - example Demi Moore's kid in "Stripper".

With the cheap price of Thai help, you are either really cheap or using the baby factor  to visit the naughty's boy corner. Do you get a discount if you bring a baby? Or is this part of your new under cover disguise?

Well after all, BGs are Thai, and I don't think I've ever come across a race more besotted with young children. Not even the Italians, which is saying something.
When my younger daughter was 15 mos, just learned to walk, she specialised in sprinting off to the most dangerous place she could find. In restaurants etc, this would always be the kitchen. No problem at all - she would simply be adopted, fussed over, fed and spoilt rotten by the kitchen staff for the duration of the meal, giving us a much-needed rest. This happened every single time we took her out, both in BKK and the provinces.
People are wary of taking small children on long-haul trips, because they can be bloody hard work. But I would say LOS is a brilliant place to bring them. Wherever you go, they will make friends for you, and you will never need a formal babysitter. Thais will queue up to take the pest off your hands, and they can be trusted absolutely with kids. I don't think it would bother me a bit leaving a toddler in the care of BGs.

it did also occur to me that babies are absolute fanny magnets a la that episode of friends when ross and joey are baby sitting!
might need to get me one of them...
as a ps i agree with your comment re cowboy, but the pong would be a definite NO

T-up ; Thanks for the offer, but to clarify, if/when i do wander out with ms nat, it is only ever to outside/ open air beer bars, or in the case of soi cowboy, definately sitting in front of the establishments, certainly would not venture inside. Seeing "Y" performing in the sin-bin corner would have given her nightmares for life !

Justy to clarify - this was posted justb to point out that by and large the majority of TGs/BGs are in fact caring and good hearted, that there is another side to them, - I get tired of guys comming to me with major problems, who in the first sentance see the need to point out - "she is not a bar-gril " my investigations over many years, show that you have an equal chance of getting ripped off - or alternatively, depending on how you handle things, getting yourself a devoted Thai wife, whether she is from a bar or not -
