My TGF has recently taken to calling me Papa, at first I thought this was tongue in cheek but has happened a bit too often to be just that.
Since I am not that old, my first thoughts were "**** I'm not that bloody old". ÝFollowed by, "I wonder if she needs some serious analysis". ÝBut I vaguely remember hearing/reading that this might be a good thing, can anyone confirm or deny, or simply come up with a plausible reason?

My missus calls me 'daddy' but that is only copying my boy, a girl in Manila used to call be 'daddeee', really cute in that accent.
Are you older than her Dad, then she could be refering to papa as grandad. Or it could be her way of gently breaking the news to you, getting you used to the sound of it and all for a month or so and then comes in for the kill.
