I hear of some guys who quickly married the working girl as soon as you take her out of the scene and then brought her to your home country.
Is this a good idea? Is it not better for her to come stay with you for maybe a year to see if she can adjust to your home country? Even if you are staying in Thailand, is it not better to give some time for each other to know each other better?
This is presuming she has agree to get out of the scene to be with you.
I do admit if we were to wait, she might have to get in and out of the country during the period and that could be quite a hassle. Still even if she is married to you, she would still visit her family back home right?
What are your experiences? please share...thanks!

Since every country has different immigration and visa policies, it would help a lot if you told the class where your home country is.

The British Embassy would only give my future wife (now-ex) a resettlement visa if I showed them we were already married. There was aload of other paperwork as well. I think a six month holiday visa is given on occasions but you still must show you can support her with bank statements etc. It was quite sad to sit in the visa section and watch all the upset faces after their application had been turned down. All this is of course hipocracy as asylum seekers are poring into the UK like there is no tomorrow, but that is OK they are not Thai bar girls just economic refugees many of whom could be termed gypsies.
There should be a new type of visa called, 'Try it and see' ? as many relationships go wrong when the Thai girl leaves her country and finds that other countries are cold including the people. There is a very high failure rate but unless you have actually tried it these words will have no effect ! Maybe that new visa should be called 'Suck it and see' ?
Then I am being facetious?

i have to agree with much of Hermanalobo's points.
many of the Members know how I feel about a certain Girl and I made enquiries about bringing her to the UK to be with me.
very difficult I found,she is Thai and therefore a whore and not really acceptable to the general UK population.
was it fair to all the other Brits if I bought a Girl who sold her body into the country?
no-one was interested if we were in love,if we thought things might work out between us.
but as Hermanalobo says,enter the UK illegally and claim asylum and all is good.
you get a house,benefits and all that sh_t.
unfair in my eyes and because of it I am denied the chance of being with someone I have many genuine feelings for.
yes there are men in the UK who have been successful in bring thier wives or girlfriends to the UK.
i admire them for their fortitude in carrying on with their wishes and hopes.

I sometimes find the stench of British political hipocracy overwhelming.
The whole concept of a girl selling her body for sex is totally different in Asia and in no way can be equated with the greasy haired women who ply their trade on the streets of Kings Cross.
Or in western terms think of the old music hall joke:-
Why get married?
Just find a woman you don't like (and treats you like sh_t)
and buy her a house.

About the Visa problem there are some interesting threads in this forum and, as Hermanolobo stated, a marriage is not an instant solution anyway in most of the western countries where the immigration is ruled by a bit of racism with a lot of human disregard.
I understand that for one of us that would love to show to his TG how is the life in Farangland, there are probably 10 pimps which are trying to move 100 TG's in a western brothel, but I just would love that we were so cautious on the transfer of dirty money also.
Anyway, back to the original question, if I was a TG, I would never move to farangland's life style, which is miserable unless you got a very large amount of money.
Much easier to be happy in LOS, and with less money.
IMHO, that explains many of the failures as well as the success.

I think some people have a very distorted view of the UK Embassy in Bangkok.
I have dealt with them on several issues over the years and found them to be excellent and fair.
I have got two visas sorted for Thai people to visit the UK in recent months. Neither were in P4P and we certainly not treated like they are whores. Sorry nokna but I consider that statement to be silly. Hundreds of Thai people get visa's easily to visit the UK.
Remember the UK Embassy has a 3 way duty of care:
a) To the state.
b) To their own National, the embassy knows far more about what goes on than you think, and remember, they may know far more about the girl in question than the farang coming in with her does. (Think about it)
c) They also have a duty of care to the National of the host state.
The last Holiday visa I got for a Thai was for someone who's annual salary was LESS THAN HALF of my monthly salary in Thailand. She showed the necessary paperwork, one of the most important being a letter from her reputable employer stating she had a job to return to.
How many BG's can produce that, despite their much higher earning capacity.
Whatever you may think it is about fulfilling the document requirements, not about opinion, essentially the Embassy staff do not form an opinion about the applicant other than if they are lying or not.
Farangs take along their wives to be, who they have known for several weeks in some cases. They fail to produce the required paperwork or satisfactory information and fail to get a visa. But the version of hardship they spout whilst crying into their beers that evening "They treated her like a whore" is bullsh_t. They failed to meet the requirements.
Essentially bar girls are unemployed, and often choose to visit a country without any thought or history with the person they travel with.
You want a visa?..get an employees letter, get a history of photographs/letters between a couple. produce documentation regarding your own situation/finances.
I've offered to help on several visa's and have yet to have a refusal. I'm a stickler for decent paperwork.
My advice to anyone who wants to get a visa is you be a stickler for paperwork too, else you will fail also. It's the same everywhere, including getting visa's/WP's in Thailand.

I've just stood on the roof (bloody freezing !) and watched TG911 take off from Heathrow at 1211hrs approx. Pretty much on time.
A overwhelming feeling of homesickness came over me!
I am sure the TG's feel the same but would never show it ?

Of course there is the other side to the argument and yes, I did not know the reasons for the TG's rejections and the ensuing floods of tears.
Perhaps the UK Embassy in Bangkok should be the ones who deal with the asylum seekers. Ever been to Shepherds Bush recently? It's like a cross between downtown Timbuktu and Yugoslavia. Not an English word to be heard. There are many parts of London like this! A Serb who owned a business in London grunted that we were letting in many fromer Yugo crooks and gangsters and don't wish them Happy Christmas or they'll pull a knife on you! A tall young West Indian was waiting for a bus with me in the Bush and he turned and said after a tribe of Somalis cruised past,"Christ man, place full of foreigners !" They seem threatened as well, he looked pleased when I said just let people in who play cricket (Buy your TG a bat - she can hit you then when you come home late from the pub!)
A senior military colleague brought his Thai girlfriend over for six months. She was from an educated family and of quite independent means. His next four applications were turned down. He fretted a lot as she was now his fiance and getting leave from the military to go and see her and sort out the visa problem was becoming difficult and expensive. They are now happily married and living in England with a new baby so sometimes things turn out well in the end. If Nokna has enough of the 'right' paperwork I expect him to get a six month visitors visa. After that I would not like to say. The UK wouldn't play ball with me unless I got married. Hardly cricket is it ?

it will be a good idea for her.
somebody I know has a fixed plan to marry this bloke from the US, and to be back in LOS in less than 2 years, divorced and "rich".
no kidding.
of course stay together.
to save her face, you can always do a secret marriage in her village.
that's what I would do.
