I took a friend to Bangkok earlier this year, and 3 days into the trip he fell in love with a bar girl. Since then he has been hopelessly in love with this girl, and talks on the phone with her daily. She told him that she has quit the bar and started selling jewelry in a mall.
What I'm wondering is, what are his chances for a successful relationship with this bar girl?
If any of you folks have a success story to post here, please do. But first, follow these guidelines.
1. You and her are now together in the same country.
2. You have been married or at least together for 1 year or more.
3. You are a farang by definition and she is or has been a thai bar girl.

there are succes stories around, but you will have to live a big part of the year in thailand to get a strong grip on her, otherwise the cheating will continue!

Been with my TGF almost 2 years now. She's been out of the scene a year and half. So that's fairly successful, knock on wood.
Check out the Falling in Love thread (all 10 million pages of it) for some other anecdotal "evidence."
I would also agree with the bro's who recommend TPE checking out the story, as she can concoct any story she desires when your friend is away. I'd also ask your friend what sort of exit strategy he has in mind for her to stay out of the scene permanently (if that's what he wants) and then do some serious soul searching. The infatuations stage will pass, so he should decide what that means for him financially.

As others have already pointed out there are more than suffecient Threads & posts on this Forum to give you a good picture of both sides of the coin.
I will only add this - Since we are supposedly the more educated & the more financially secure be ready to go much, much more than half-way in the give and take ; be ready to make a great deal of allowance in apparent flighty or insincere behaviour on the girls part in the initial stages & stay the course.
When the girl sees your sincerity and dedication there is a very strong chance that she will turn into the GF you are hoping for.

i know a cse of one thai girl, who paid to a farang to marry her and bring her in europe.

Wow, it's not looking promising for my buddy.
Sadly I don't believe there is any way I could talk sense into him. I remember what it was like to be in love, and I also remember that I would give anything to protect it. This could include our friendship, so I'll just let him learn the hard way.
