hi all,
first of all thank you for all your posts, i am following almost all threads, when business is slow here at my office... and i am learnig alot about los. i have been to los once and i have also read several books about thailand , the history and the culture. i have had several relationships with thai girls in my home country and in los. but one thing i never understood and maybe one of the experienced members can help me: a thai girl will be my girlfriend / compagnion and show me love. at the same time, she will tell me that i have another girlfriend. i have tried to sincerely talk to hear, to constantly say no, or to make jokes around it. but nothing seemed to help. has anyone experienced something similar (likely)? i am not the guy who will date several girls at the same time, so sometimes this has upset me. in my opinion, western girls will
a) either trust you, or
b) not be with you, if they do not trust you.
is it different with thai girls, or is this "you have another girlfriend "-thing thai-specific? or maybe i do not treat the ladys right? i have to say that i am quite confused by this cultural difference. i appreciate any help-

In my opinion it is a culture difference. TG are the most jalous females that I know of. One reason for this could be that most Thai men are absolute useless when it comes to romance and are known for having several wifes at the same time. TG know this and therefore might assume that we are no difference. Are we?

thai girls can be jealous yes,but on the other hand,not so.
read my field reports[a learning curve],i was with one girl most of the time,but still pushed me onto her friends,as they needed money and she was not jealous.
i fell for a girl and she was my main girl for a long time,but she knew i was a butterfly,did'nt like it,but put up with it.
she knew i would BF her 3/5 nights.
also read my '27 days of hell' field reports to see how the good times can be had,but also a few of the pitfalls.
all the girls are different,like us when it comes to this subject.

After 20 years, I would say that Byron has it pretty simply put but pretty correct.
Nokna; PLEASE don't take it the wrong way but I think your experience is barely applicable if at all. Not only are BGs somewhat different than the average TG their expectations from you are likely to be VERY different. I know that you have warm relations with your girls but they know what the deal is, as do you. They get money for the nice time threey have with you and thuds they have no rights to anything more. Certainly not to be jealous. And why wouldn't they recommend you to freinds. You are a nice guy, who pays without problem and if they don't take you someone else will.
This has very little in common with an actual girlfreind.
I know youre just trying to help with your input but as I said before, I don't think it is appropriate to the situation.
Then again, I ceratinly could be wrong (It's never happened to before though!).

BG are not the average TG indeed. How many BG (TG probably included) have a baby at home and their husband/boyfriend lost in the woods. The average thai male has another definition of responsibility when it comes to a relation, family and children.

To clearify are you asking about TG's or BG's. It would help shed light with the responses that you will get. I dont have what I would call a girlfriend there myself. Nor do I want one. I do have what I would call "my regular", and as i've posted in the past the "main one" of the two tells me;" just dont take ten lady ok, five ok , not ten please".
We are talking all at once mind you. Like nokna's main i guess, mine will useally round up a few of her friends when i'm in country coz they need money or whatever. These are working girls that may or may not be partime students as well. I dont care one way or the other coz it's all pink on the inside. So if you need info. on students or store clerks or anything other than MP, BG, FL, I dont think that I can help. hope what I have given helps though.

Jealousy is something that you can find among most Asian women. Filipinas can be very jealous too - BGs and other 'nice' girls included. Chinese and Koreans too. It's also linked with a (sometimes perverse) sense of loyalty that girls develop to their customers and 'nice' girls develop towards their b/fs. It never does to underestimate this loyalty factor: both on the upside and downside. And of course it applies to the idea of the family in a specially strong way.
IMHO Asian women are generally far more loyal than their western counterparts. When it works for you it is great.
Yes, Byron's right of course, but you will get exactly the same message from lots of BGs in the Philippines.

Good post Ghost! Actually everyone (especially of course me) made good points. Bigin is correct in saying we are discussing 2 different things at the same time; Your "regular" BG (or 12 regulars in Nokna's case ) or: your girlfreind.
I was taking my cue from his comments about dating at home; I assumed (maybe incorrectly) that he's talking about a GF.
