Hi guys
I know this has been touched on in other threads but I make no apologies for raising this important issue again. Apologies to "old handers" but I feel some kind of duty to any Brother new to Bkk. The age situation is quite simple, sex with an under 15 girl carries LIFE imprisonment!! MORE importantly (and usually little known-hence why I raise it) sex with an under 19 year old carries 3 years or BIG fine (or backhander). What makes this particulalry dangerous is the fact that the police are now offering "rewards" to informers on this and take my word for it if a hotel porter can double his monthly wage by notifying them they WILL. Girls are supposed to be 19+ to "work" in bars, gogo's etc but this supposition is NO defence. So guys, especially those of you who are new, BE CAREFUL OUT THERE.
The bigegst worry is that this will be used an more "fuel to the argument" of the crackdown advocators and it could then spoil everything for the rest of us!!

Your post should be taken very seriously by all. What makes it forceful is that you have mentioned the jail term in case of under 15 and under 19. So guys, be very very careful. In case you are doubtful about the age, as regretful as it may be, just let go.

Guys,
There are a couple of other things to bear in mind also. First Thai police don't always play as straight as you would like and also ID,s can be borrowed or stolen so even this is not a certainty of a girls age.

The Thai calender is 543 years in front so this year is 2545. But the Thai new yewr is in April. It is only 2544 at the moment. So to give yourself a safety margin a 20 year old will have been born in 2525. Thats an easy number to remember.
As I said in my last post you have to be careful 'cos ID's are not absolute.

Right guys....the ID test is not foolproof. As Pussylover said the Thai girls can look very young. So just be safe by taking a girl that is obviously older than 20. Better safe than sorry.

Firstly guys I have to stand corrected.Sentence is up to 6 years for under 15 (see bkkzs link on other thread) and up to 3 for under 19. Hopefully only the latter is relevant here as I hope brothers on this forum are NOT into under 15 anyway!!  )
Sadly I speak from two experiences. The first was a friend having his hotel room "busted" after an obvious tip off from the hotel front desk for having an 18 yr old in there. The 2nd was personal!! On my first trip to Bkk I took a girl from a well known gogo! NO I'm NOT into young and actually prefer over 20 but I do like them small and cute and i fell for the classic thought that "she must be over age as she has to be 19 to work here". LUCKILY for me I had developed a good relationship with the hotel night desk and they told me her ID was fake. This could mean she was either an illegal immigrant OR that she was under-age. I WASN'T taking chances and gave her a few hundred and sent her on her way. I have every faith that the hotel were telling me the truth as a). they were FINE with all other girls I took there and b). He REFUSED the "bribe" the girl tried to offer him!!!??
As you may know from other threads i am not a "fan" of the go-go's and MPs and I think this experience has a lot to do with that. I now like to spend much longer getting to know the girl and find the bars easier to develope this (Personal opinion before anyone has a pop). Anyway if they LIKE you its usually cheaper, even free!!
My advice, be VERY CAREFUL OUT THERE and, if possible get the hotel desk "on your side" - its always useful in other ways anyway.

I think it would be pretty easy to detect a girl who falls into the first catagory of under 15. ðPeople who sleep with kids that young turn my stomach and make me puke.
As for the second catagory of under 19, I can see how a mistake can be made but anyone can easily avoid it if they pay attention. I agree with others who say.....if you even have an inkling she is not at least 20 or more....say thank you and move on.
