Will be in BKK for only my second time later this month.
Besides making a spiritual pilgrimage to the Eden Club, Alley Cat and it's sister clubs'
location,just to see if they've redecorated since I was there last  Ý
There is something else I'd like to do/see on the tame and touristic side.
I'd like to go to the Royal Dragon (http://www.royal-dragon.com/index1.html) for dinner.I know it's corny as hell, but I think it could be a fun evening.
But also it would require taking a date (read BG).
Questions are:
Restaurant issue
I know that Thais often assume that even a GTG/ farang couple may be BG/farang, so I don't expect to fool anyone. But how likely is it that she or I may be made to feel "uncomfortable"? It's not so much that I'd give much of a shit, but I have a bit of a temper that I have to be careful with. Don't want to get fired up by some ass hole that thinks they're being cute and spend a night that could have been a fun, feeling pissed off or worse.
BG issue
As I will only be in BKK for three nights, the chance of finding the optimum companion is going to be pretty much hit and miss. Was thinking it would be best to
speak to a kindly (read tip 300bt) mama san and have her make the selection.
But there is another thing that I feel awkward about.
I enjoy treating the ladies in a really nice way (no I don't pay for sick buffalo hehe) and of course it almost always gets me a great time with them.
Knowing that class and status work both ways in Thailand.
I am a bit timid about taking a BG to a venue that will be pure torture for her.
I know this restaurant is not in the same class as the Oriental Hotel, but it's not Som's noodle stand either.
Am I reading to much into it, or is my apprehension valid?

I think it depends on how much older you are compared to BG as to what most Thai's will thnk about it. But if you don't care, I doubt the BG will care. But you won't know exactly what kind of clothes the BG might be wearing going straight from the bar to the restaraunt, until you pay the bar fine.
If you want a slightly more classy girl in her late 20's, then you might try Queens Massage. If you email them, they will send you a link to pics of their escorts, some of whom are office girls. You can get someone for 12 hours or more, including dinner and fun afterwards (or whatever order you want). They have severl Thai-Chinese girls that might like that restaraunt better than some others.
This may not be the cheapest solution, but given your short stay in Bangkok, I would probably use Queens for what you want.

One option is to talk to the mamasan - one of her jobs, if you ask, is to help you find a girl who matches your requirements.
Just buy her a drink and explain that you're looking for a sophisticated girl with good manners who can handle herself in an upmarket restaurant. There are girls in most go-gos who fit the bill, & the MS shouldn't have any difficulty pointing you in the right direction.
Come to think of it, a request like this will probably earn you quite a lot of brownie points in the bar. It'll make a refreshing change, anyway, from 'get me one who does anal'.
As for snooty waiters etc, that can be a problem - which is partly your fault for taking a very unsophisticated farmgirl somewhere where she's clearly out of place. Thais aren't in the least bit egalitarian and don't approve of this at all. I've made this mistake myself in the past and it's no fun - the girl is miserably uncomfortable, you get wound up and a shitty time is had by all.
Btw - I don't think the mere fact that she's a lady of the night is much of a problem for the Thais. So long as she knows how to dress and behave, little details like that can be overlooked. Your main danger in a tourist trap would be dirty looks from farang women straight off the plane who haven't yet acclimatised. Best cure is to catch them at it and stare right back in your best 'mind your own f_cking business' style. Ý Ý ÝÝ

Do you have some financial interest in Queen's? ÝThis makes several threads in which you have touted them. ÝYou apparently know the owner, so I guess you either really like their service, or are making a buck.
Or, are you a 'one-size-fits-all' guy, who can't be bothered to actually leave your hotel room to find a girl?
I mean, considering airfare and all, you could order out just about ANYPLACE in the known world, and get laid...why bother travelling to Thailand at all?

I have no personal or financial relationship with Queens Massage. I used them about a year ago and was very pleased with girl I selected (saw her 5 times). She left Queens and I think she left the business also.
On my very recent trip to BKK I tried Queens twice for in-room massage and extras, but had mixed results. So I would not necessarily recommend them unconditionally for any situation.
But the two situations where I recommended Queens involved people who were coming to BKK for a fairly short stay (3 nights and 7 nights), and they also needed some non-sexual companionship or tour-guide services. Queens has some girls that specialize in this. Also, one can look at their pics (if you send Alex an email) and read the description about them (English skills, etc), and even ask Alex questions about them before arriving in BKK.
For just sex, I would not necessarily recommend Queens over other options. But I have learned that one can waste a lot of valuable time looking for the right girl in the bar, freelance, or MP scene, especially if other non-sexual services are needed. If you have the time, that's fine, but not everyone does.
Aside from whether Queens itself (or the girls who work there) are any good, I do think that it has the right business model to survive whatever crackdown in P4P that happens in LOS.

No offense, but this is just about the MOST ridiculous statement possible. ÝIn fact, the fact that she is a BG will look like a neon sign to just about EVERY Thai you encounter. ÝThe farangs may key on your age difference, but the Thais will know for sure.
Going to a tourist venue is often fun, IF you don't take yourself too seriously, and just relax and have a good time. ÝBGs will respond to your comfort level, and if you are uptight or 'noi jai', you will have a LOUSY time.
Since you honestly admit to a temper, I would advise you to forget about pre-planning the Royal Palace, and, instead, find a girl you are comfortable with. ÝThen, after spending a bit of time together, find out where SHE likes to eat, even if it's 'Som's noodle stand'. ÝAfter a couple of meals at her spot, tell her you would like to try something completely different, and ask her to wear something very pretty, because you are going to take her to a nice restaurant you heard about.
By this time, you will be comfortable together, and it will be easier for you to put your insecurities (and hence anger) aside, and go have fun.
Expecting to deal with all these issues, in addition to all the crap that comes with a 'first date', is a recipe for disaster.
Besides, you may find that you get more out of a trip to the local som tam cart, in a funky neighborhood, than you had hoped to get out of a big touristy restaurant - and at 10% of the price...
The other alternative is a GTG, which, given your sense of urgency, seems unlikely.

If the age difference is not great and she is dressed appropriately, then how would a Thai know for sure she is BG? Some people might have their suspicions, but they might not show any outward hostility unless they knew for sure. Obviously it depends on the girl, some will obviously look like BG's no matter how they are dressed.
Nevertheless, I doubt my post was "the MOST ridiculous statement possible."

Yep, that's my concern.
Think I'll try taking the hostess off to the side, tip
her a few baht, explain that we want to feel
"at home" and to spread the word that baht will follow if my "date" feels that we have been treated well.
Or...maybe instead I'll threaten to call a bus load of katoeys to join us for dinner if they piss me off!

Chiang Mai.
It was fun!!
Stared back at the cutest as if I found her attractive,
then looked at my BG companion, looked back at the farang, and then made my own expression of disapproval.
But that shit is work for me.
