in LOS I gladly pay the set fee at Eden and think it's actually quite the bargain for the service you get.

So what? You are the one who has been reviving threads with no activity for almost two years. Lack of activity does not seem to be a deterrent for you to reply.
You said it "seems", but you also should know (hopefully one day you will learn some things) that thread title often has litle to do with content. Just look at the title of some of your own threads. Anyway, you wrong in your impression. But you will have to read.
Semi-civil? Nah, you are just getting past having entertaining value. You obviously do not know well about the personalities of the most frequent members of the forum. Again, if you stick long enough, you are bound to either change your recent attitudes or you will end up leaving (voluntary or forced), kind of either "bend or break." Many tougher ones before you either ended breaking or bent: JHJ, DG, Bigone, FM, Tigercode, etc.
EDIT: After your edit, I must ad that you must be looking at the wrong thread, because the link I posted is for a thread with 6 pages and not 49. Is it the counting or is it that you had trouble finding the thread? Just click on the link.

Very true, but that also affects everyone. But some older members often feel they do not change, only newbies change, which is not true.
