This might seem like a dumb question but I'll risk the collective wrath of those more experienced anyway.
I was wondering to myself as I prepare to depat for BKK what [aside from money-always a sure thing I figure]is/ are some good things to do to please a BG. I am thinking sexually and in terms of psuedo romance/affection etc.
Like is there any point in treating them to a meal in vertigo or serroco for example.
Or perhaps bringing them a present from my own country as a souvenier. I have the feeling that flowers and choclate don't count for shxx.
I was thinking of getting a nice little necklace or set of ear rings to give a freelancer I have arranged to meet.
I figure it would be a nice surprise- and in truth not at all expesive- about 20-35 bucks maybe.
Surely it is good way to set the tone-ie... I good to you so you will be good to me-up to you!
I also just like giving? Which brings me back to sex.
Is there some things that Thai women particularly like/or dislike. I assume there must be lots of experts out there? So give us the inside story on Thai women and what makes them laugh/smile and of course ultimately horny.
I am just doing my apprenticship here so don't be too harsh on me if I appear particularly green.

TGs don't seem to place the same sentimental value on chocolate that Western women do - pity - because researchers say that chocolate is really an aphrodesiac. Although they do eat just about ANYTHING else - 24/7 -and still keep incredible waistlines.
They DO place a special value on GOLD. Any gold jewelry. Not silver, not precious stones, but GOLD!!!
Why? Simply because many know what it is to subsist on the edge, and know that they can always cash out ONLY their gold in a pinch. As such it is considered by many a status symbol also. But most are genuinely appreciative of any sincere kindness/gift. Gifts not necessary for every encounter - just the cash at the going rate. Gifts are nice for a regular, when you want to reciprocate for a special round of GFEs: Girl Friend Experiences. And be careful to not mistake a Girl Friend Experience for a Girl Friend.
Most live sparsely and therefore aren't big on collecting 'stuff' the way most of us do. Many of the veterans are pretty well off - if they've saved /haven't given it all to family or boyfriend. Most newbies from upcountry don't have scratch.
Certainly they like nice places, who doesn't, especially as it may be a completely new world for her, but you might just have to go shopping with her and treat her to a nice dress first. CG's description in one of his Ko Samed FRs of his TGs reaction to her first time on a beach was particularly compelling.
I have however had the truly sad feeling/hint that as much as they like the nice places, when she sees the bill and realizes how many, many days one fancy meal/night's entertainment would feed/house her entire family, she deep down would rather have the money than the entertainment.
It's a different world than the one many of us are used to, but enjoy - and she will also.

Gold not the best thing to buy as gold is like a TG bank account and they sell on hard times (make a withdraw) and the gold sellers here only take thai gold back most of the time any other gold the TG gets a very bad price.
TG's really like things from other places in the world that they will never get to visit like where you come from. I used to give a tg in my past T shirts from england as they can not get them in LOS. Also fluffy toys are good one if she is aroud 20 ish.

that's right, they call it Falahng gold, and it's next to worthless here.
the local gold is more expensive, but it's also higher karat
my buddy always brings matches like we have back home. Interesting if they smoke (cigarettes). They do not have the folding cover matchbooks here...
Jake, I recommend you just get your arse over here and don't worry/plan too much, just bring plenty of money...

i agree that gold from the local gold store is always a good idea. maybe something typical from too expensive your country that is not too expensive. give them the value part in cash, because that is what they really need. many bg find themselves out of place in a very expensive western-style restaurant, as they are not familiar with these situations. why not let her choose a restaurant, maybe isaan -style and let her order and explain. maybe with some friends of hers.
always treat them with respect, be calm, smile and dont forget to pay at the end, 555.

I had a BG ask me for 100 Baht to send out for barbeque. Well, they returned with bags full of bugs (large grasshoppers, cockroaches, bug larve, etc.). Every BG then descended upon our table. It was a very festive Issan feast at our table. The bugs were gone in no time. It's a site to see a BG with grasshopper legs dangling out her mouth while talking to another BG poping bug larve as if it was pop corn.

I seen a guy on the show "Wild on Thailand" eat a large coachroach of which he agreed only to eat it if they put him on TV. They did, he ate it and when asked what it tastes like. I know everybody was expecting the standard answer "It tastes like chicken answer" He replied "It tastes exactly like a cockroach"
