Is it cheap anymore? I get the feeling it's not, nor widely available. People are scared. Certainly, I don't see the number of girls on it that I did 4-5 years ago and I know enough to recognise it straight away. Quite a few former addicts are noticeably chubbier and clearer-eyed.
Klong-Tooey price a couple of years ago was 50B a pill. I know Samui used to be much more expensive - 500?, with Ko Phagnan even more so. I'd guess the Klong Tooey price is way up now. Anyone know?

Last high season was asked 500B a pill.
What it is to me is speed. Feel like I can jump over the moon. Want to get out and party long time. Gets the lead out my ass. Good stuff if used properly. Makes me want to get up and go do things. Love it.
I do not drink or try not to. So have no idea what happens when the two are mixed.

Yaba is an amphetamine or 'speed' like drug. The original recipe was devised by Hitler's scientists as a pill to keep his soldiers awake. Supposedly it is quite easy and cheap to make (as long as you can get your hands on some cough mixture, household cleaning agents and some old car batteries!!). Until about 20 years ago it was legal in Thailand and was sold at petrol stations.
The effects are similar to E except that E makes you euphoric while the side effects of yaba can be hallucinations. Common to suffer from 'crank bugs' - the feeling that you have bugs crawling under your skin that you cant get rid of (hence the wild stares and scratching).
It is so much cheaper and easier to produce than 'E' that it is often sold to punters as 'E' both here and in the West. You can really only tell the difference by testing it.
This is probably the reason for the confusion over prices. Yaba only costs Bt200/tab in Bangkok while Bt500/tab sounds about right for 'E' or yaba mascerading as 'E'. (Still prices go through the roof around Full Moon Party)

This stuff can be bad. Many of the bargirls used it to keep some of the weight off as it had an appetite depressant effect as well as letting them go all night. And man, they can go all night and day on this stuff!
Filippinas in HK bars used it alot years ago and some literally went nutz. As mentioned about the "bugs". One Filippina was taken to a mental institute as she was tearing at her vagina that worms or bugs were crawling out of it!!

Yaba is gone and got pretty bad reputation with the TG.
The Majority of them have moved to K and ICE.
The vast majority go for ICE if they can afford as it does not stop you from eating and you don't have the Slow motion feeling of K.
