I was pissed when the BG in Pattaya got angry with me for showing attention to another girl! She said I was a "Butterfly". I confronted her and said that she is with different men everyday. She siad that it was different because it was her job. She told me I was not just another man. I had been with her once in a prior trip and now it felt like she thought she owned me. I did not come to Thailand looking for commitment (I am still a coward when it comes to commitment).
I have been laying on the beach reading a very appropriate book, "Suzie Wong" by Richard Mason. This is a classic and was also a movie. It was writen in the 50's. It takes place in Hong Kong and is a love story about an British man and a Chinese prostitute. Having lived in HK for 15 years I am amazed at its accuracy.
Anyway this paragraph caught my eye:
"There was a Code of Honour amongst them (the working girls) according to which, sailor had committed himself by taking a girl upstairs, he thereafter became her property, to be reclaimed by her on his subsequent visits to the bar, and eschewed by the rest. They despised the "butterfly" who liked a change of girl at each visit, and only the less scrupulous girls would contravene the Code to oblige him." Suzie Wong, Richard Mason,1957, Pegasus Books page 38.
Wow, things have not changed and that thinking has been around for a long time.
I understand a little morew now. Also, in the book it explained how this makes the girls feel a notch above the street girls and they don't feel as cheap.
But I do not want to be their property as I am "paying". In one bar there are 3-4 girls I would like to be with, unfortunatley it is next to the bar where she is.
Question: The girls seem to have a Code of Honour", do we have one?? If so, what would it be?

This is something I've never put up with from BGs...
I'm not rude about it, don't get me wrong.
If they bring up the ButterFly subject I just explain that this is the way it is, and if they don't agree with my way, then they can move along.
I do have plenty of "regular" girls that I visit in particular pubs, but if my regular gal is not there, I try and make a selection from the remainder.
Once you've explained how you feel about the ButterFly BS to one gal in a bar, they all learn of it (in that bar), so no needing to repeat yourself.
I've even got floating appointments with 2 gals at Buffalo Bar, and they each know about the other.
I'm just trying to make it into a 3some now...
Maybe if NG isn't into it CT's sister will be.

Last week I was talking about this subject with a mamasan in my favourite spot in PatPong....by "darling" was not there that night (sick) and mamasan was suggestin me to take another candy....so I told her that would have made my favourite mad....mamasan gave me a nice answer "she has to have a big heart".....code of honor sure, but also many ways to compromise with the situation.......
I believe that a single bf doesn't entitle the girl to mark you as "property" but if you keep doin it for few times then she should be ok with that.....
More than a code of honor I think it's an animal instinct...like the dogs when they mark their territory....

If we are together in a bar and I offer a BG 500 for st don't bid the price up. 
Tell the BG upfront that your a butterfly and you will be taking other girls from the bar.
Keep one thing in mind, she's not your girl friend and your not her boy friend. Your her customer. No more no less.

IMO, there isn't a code of honor but the "face" issue is the problem. None of the girls want to lose face that their "ATM" is now with someone else.
Best thing to do is to tell the girl at some point (before, during or after) you want to be a butterfly. She can either get angry, understand or she might even help to select your next one and join the fun! If you give her a 'tip' as a going away gesture, the anger subsides fairly quickly.
BTW, that book was s very good and supposedly depicts HK in the 50's very accurately. If you visit Wan Chai where it is set and meet some of the older chinese mamasans in the girly bars, they can tell you tales of what it was like mostly during the Vietnam war days. Not too much different from the book.

I haven't read the book, but maybe the author was just expressing one truth as he experienced/knew/heard about it. This 'code of honour' can exist in various forms I think.
I was cuddling with my semi-regular BG one night when she started telling me that one of her co-workers liked me...now was she testing me, or was she being a good friend and trying to pass me onto her  (edit/add) That would be the code of honor in reverse, wouldn't it?
OR is she getting tired of me??

You missed the point, she is a lesbian, that friend was her lover and they were discreetly trying to invite you into their 3some. Unfortunately, you only get 1 invite I have found, so never mind, better luck next time.

The girls in the gogo I hang at in the evenings seem to have their little cliques. As long as I stayed within the clique they created around me, no face was lost no matter who I took. I was chastised once for buying a LD
for this other new girl at the end of the bar. The 4 of them took very good care of me, so I can't really complain. Asked my #1 girl if she'd be here on this next trip, she wasn't sure because she butterfly, is what she told me.........hehehe. A few hrs earlier my #2 girl had told me she will be here, and gave me her cell#. I think they all feel we will be a better match without telling me........lolol. Them realigning my numbering system.
I've been with 2 of them when my #1 girl has had to go up north, at her request, not anyone but her friends are gettin my party money......lol. They know I'm just there to relax, and unwind while on vacation. They keep me from losing face, and at the same time I do that for them. Not going in to any gogo that can be seen from their's is pretty much it. What they can't see can't be proven from their standpoint.......26 more day and counting.

As has been stated in the past, if you're there on vacation, then just enjoy yourself. Do what thou wilt. But also be straight up in the beginning that you're a butterfly. Saves a lot of headaches in the long run. But remember also, when all is said and done it's your vacation, it's your bhat.
