That story became a legend at work ! Yes that is apparently what he was told by the doctor.
He was given a course of anti-biotics and it cleared up.

Gawd I hope it's not too risky...but if it is risky then I've been living dangerously all these years...

Almost every Thai women I've been with takes a shower before she hops into bed. All you smell is a faint odor of soap and it takes time for the taste to return.
I do check their eyes to see if they are yellow. Good indicator if she has hepatitis.
