I'm happy, (nay proud..) to announce that wifi internet access is now up and running in the Sukhumvit 1 Plaza building.
If you are happier playing with your laptop, rather than the other activities on offer (!), then internet access is completely free if you sit in Revolution, Night Night Joop Joop or Big Screen Sport bars, (.. er.. my bars..). Sit in another bar and you're gonna have to pay 60 baht/hour.
I'd be interested to see if anyone actually gets to use this wifi - let me know

It is my opinion that the threads about Suk 1 (and your bars) turn into a spam opportunity and have no general purpose anymore.
Perhaps you could consider to limit your self promotion to your signature and your (updated) website.

Get a life DrLove!! Although you might find wifi rather boring - and maybe don't even know what it means - there are some on this forum who maybe appreciate the effort (and cost) that I've outlayed to provide this internet access.
Note that I did not say that users had to buy drinks in my bar to use the wifi for free. They don't

My dear doctor, as long as there is some real information buried in the post I wouldn't rate it as spam... Generosity makes a better world...
... and the free wifi is a good information. Maybe I take advantage of this in the near future...
I think that Happyguy shows a certain balance of info and advertising by now even though we clearly feel that he wants to see some more brothers in his bar... and - why not ?

These also contain information, but are meant to draw customers to a certain venue/website. Thus... self promotion.
I wait for the time that Happy Twat takes every opportunity to spam his bars.
According to the rules you may only use self promotion in your signature.
Post a link to your website. If people are interested what's going on in your bars, they go there by themselves. Don't just push it!
I think you have been offered and giving some slack to promote Suk Plaza and your bars for some time.

Um, another bar owner who thinks he's a member of the Salvation Army and a godsend to punters.
These facilities are purely meant to attract customers. And then again... I wonder why you would want to surf the internet while you can chat with pleasant girls?
As an IT professional I would be happy to get a chance to leave my computers for a while....
Can you imagine nerds surfing the web in bars. Didn't they create Internet Cafes for that?

Maybe the internet provides more intellectual stimulus than 'hello, what your name, where you come from, where you stay?'
I quite like the idea myself. Starbucks et al seem to be attracting a lot of custom using the 'offering wifi' strategy. There's no need why it can't be applied to bars also, especially during the day.
